This week in Vegas I spoke about the reasons for the current inflation we are experiencing and why investors and realtors shouldn’t expect a 2008 level housing crash when values reset from the economic crisis caused by Covid-19. The current cash in our market has been artificially inflated by Covid-related legislation to provide households with economic relief and keep money flowing organically through our economy. However at the same time, goods simultaneously experienced exponentially high demand due to a myriad of supply chain disruptions. I often share how I believe materialism has no fulfilling end…but this week when I attended the Dress for Success gala, it got me thinking: 1. People often judge you based on the clothes you are wearing… 2. By wearing certain clothes you may actually shape your behavior and affect the way you perform… So how can I reconcile these thoughts and my support of Dress for Success, with my feelings about how material goods are only temporary… It’s easy - There’s no conflict because my top priorities still remain the same: Invest your heart in doing good and investing in others. Those are the investments that will pay the richest dividends. And frankly, I’m the last person who should ever say, “Clothes are a superficial priority.” I love fashion and fully take advantage of clothing being an integral part of this game of life! And it goes both ways - Sometimes when I’m trying to negotiate a price, I dress way down to send visual cues to the other person about the assumptions they should make. 😏 Even God tacitly acknowledged that some clothes are better than others when He discarded the clothes Adam and Eve made and instead gave them clothes He made from animal skins. Clothes matter and have provided an easy visual cue to help us understand a person’s standing since the beginning of the law. It’s not a perfect science, and you may not even agree with those rules, but as they say: Don’t hate the player - hate the game. 😂👏❤️👔 #DressForSuccess #theshinyhappylife
