S A C R E D You have that feeling sometimes When walking passed a forest It just draws you in Your bones seem to know the way But you cannot see it Maybe only in the far corner Of your eyes How life is often perceived We cannot always see what’s ahead Our instincts and intuition though Know the way Just as the forest knows How to pull you into her deep wisdom Into her mystic lands While leaving the subtle imprint Of Earth’s odour on you. It feels very much to me As the scent of the Sacred Where the old knowing is hidden In every cell of the dark forest When in silence You might catch a glimpse of it Or, if turned inwards enough, Even hear it breathing. #mysticlands #oldwisdom #darkforest #sacredscent #earthsodour #thegreenspop #thewayoftheearth

"No Rain, No Flowers" After a long conversation with one of my dearest friends today, and connecting with the Elements, I was reminded of something. "No Rain, No Flowers" Follow the way of the earth, it has guided us since day one. We must release. Due to cultural conditioning Humans have been programmed to store energy..we do it without even realizing. We store energies from traumas, hurt, anger, sadness, anxiety, and the list goes on.. This energy if not released transforms into Dis-ease in the body. Nature shows us that we must release. Just as the trees shed, we must also shed. As the river flows, so must we, and just as the flowers need rain to grow, we must release to grow. Crying is the bodies way of helping you release spent up energy. You will always notice you feel better after a good cry, your heart feels lighter. This is because we store so much in our heart space..we need to release from time to time. Releasing is needed for Growth to continue. It can help clear your old energy, so you can make room for new positive energy. Here are a few helpful ways to help if you are feeling the need to cleanse your energy system. •Cry it out •Breath Work •Chakra Balancing •Sound Healing •Journaling •Talking/Therapy •Shadow Work •Meditation •Spend Time in Nature •Yoga While crying can be helpful, sometimes more work may be required. I highly recommend speaking to a professional if you find you need further assistance. *I am not a medical professional. I recommend speaking to your medical practitioner before adhering to any new healthcare regimes.* #witchescove #norainnoflower

your offering is enough, your practice is enough. it seems all too easy to get wrapped up in stories of self doubt and comparison. maybe today is a good day to remember that simply by virtue of being born on earth, you are divine and worthy to be here, as you are, always. and instead of always looking outward for how to be, maybe today you move inward and trust what comes through. “this isn’t a contest, but the doorway into thanks, and a silence in which another voice may speak.”

sometimes I forget to say thank you. today I remembered. I thank the earth, who holds me up, however I arrive. For her forests who not only listen, but speak. I thank her fires for giving me daily lessons in alchemy, revealing that something as solid as wood can within moments become smoke. I thank her waters as I watch their soft caress against rock, a gentle touch that in time shifts entire landscapes. I thank the air, for reminding me that I too am not bound by form or matter. I thank the sun, for the innocence of each new day. For showing me how to love-- a steady, passive warmth that persuades sprouts to emerge from the protection of their seed. I thank the moon for rising each night. As I feel my way through the dark, she whispers for me to bow to the shadows and the wisdom they bring. I thank the stars for lifting me up, helping me see all that I cannot quite make out from where I stand. I thank my body for giving my spirit a home to inhabit and my heart for breaking each day with the pain of this world, only to open again to its beauty. I thank all those who walk gently on this earth, who clear the path for me to make my daily pilgrimage back to the reservoirs of knowing that course much deeper than the currents of my mind. 🌕

The earth and the stars tell me a much different story about what it means to be healthy and what it means to be normal than the one I hear in the messages of dominant society. When I look around at the cycles of the earth, which are guided by the movements of the cosmos, all I see are fluctuations and difference: Tides rise and fall. Seasons for birthing and seasons for dying. Times of the year that support blooming and expressing, ones that invite shedding and resting. I notice moments of expansive, explosive change (forest fires, hurricanes, earthquakes) and also the slow, steady erosion of water against rock that is nearly invisible to the eye in real time. In nature, I see different constitutions and many, sacred ways of being. I see the way that these differences interact and interconnect with one another to create a balanced, sustainable ecosystem. Humans seem to fall into the habit of asserting that there is one, best way to be. I am acutely aware of the harm caused by such a narrow definition of what it means to be a good human on earth. The markers for health, in conventional mental and physical health, are rooted in colonial- capitalist agendas for productivity, control and homogenization. When I study the history of psychiatry, I see a system that wanted to eradicate difference, not one that wanted to facilitate healing. This is not to say that psychiatry, and psychology for that matter, haven’t helped many people— because they undoubtedly have. And, there are also large populations of people who have *not* received healing through these models— and have, instead, been significantly harmed. My point is not to locate one theory or modality of healing that fits for all people across time and space, rather to expand the conversations around what it means to be ill and what it means to be well. And to get really honest about why we tell the stories we do around health and sickness. I pray that we can use ecology to remember the intrinsic value within the infinite variations of life, health, intelligence and worth. In the mean time, be wary of the message that there is only one way to be... Talk to the earth, she answers 🌬

Return of the sacred Tyee It was told to me, that our ancestors ventured to the bottom of the sea, on the back of a Killer Whale to meet the Chief of the undersea world. He asked the Chief to send the tyee to our rivers, so we could feed the people. The chief agreed, but only if the back bones were put back in the river so the spirit of the salmon was put back in the water with gratitude. Then, the chief could send the salmon(tyee)back every year! This is the way of the earth. This is the way of the creator! #TheWayoftheEarth #TCMcluhan #SimonandSchuster, 1995 - #Nature - 570 pages This book draws upon both ancient and contemporary sources to examine the significance of the earth from the perspective of six different cultures and how these spiritual traditions have valued, perceived, and understood #theearth. At first glance the peoples of aboriginal Australia, Japan, Greece, Africa, South America, and Native North America couldn't be more different. But by taking a closer look, the author shows that there are many more similarities than differences- all revere mountains as a source of inspiration and holiness, all feel a spiritual connection to the soil itself, all create art and literature to celebrate their connection to the land, and all see themselves as inextricable from the land they call home. This unique volume explores how human beings across the planet and across time have felt about the #earthandnature, and how they have understood it, related to it, and celebrated it in their literature, #mythology, #religion, and #art. It demonstrates that no matter where on the planet we exist, and no matter what time period we live, we all have a profound connection to the earth. #acpl #librarybooks #nonfiction
