On 17th may 2024, #TNRF and #TAtedo seso, launched a project titled; "Integrated Approach to Sustainable Charcoal Value Chain Promotion Project." funds by the European Union and the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Tanzania. The project is being implemented in five districts of the Pwani region including Rufiji, Kibiti, Korogwe , Kisarawe and Bagamoyo with more focus on joint village land use planning, forest management, and improved charcoal value chain. The launch that was graced by the Pwani Regional Commissioner Mr. Abubakari Musa Kunenge took place at Millennium Sea Breeze Resort in Bagamoyo, Tanzania.

Exciting update from the Land Use Planning Stakeholders Workshop 2024! On 22-24, NLUPC in collaboration with TNRF, ILRI, USAID Tuhifadhi Maliasili, Jane Goodall Institute and other stakeholders organized Land use Planning Stakeholders workshop with the Theme “Land use Planning and Use of Technology in Ensuring Security of Tenure and Conflict Resolution”. The meeting was officiated by Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Land, Hon. Geofrey Pinda (MP), and was also attended by Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Agriculture, Hon. David Silinde, as well as the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Dunstan Kitandula. The meeting attracted 200 participants, including representatives from the National Land Use Commission from Kenya and Ethiopia, and was held at Morena Hotel in Dodoma. In the workshop, stakeholders dove into group discussions and validated three guidelines 1) Integrated and Participatory Village Land Use Planning, Management and Administration in Tanzania; 2) Guidance for Joint Village Land Use planning in Tanzania; and 3) Land Use Planning Compliance Audit Manual in Tanzania. #TNRF is proud to extend its unwavering support to Makao WMA. Recently TNRF equipped Makao #WMA with essential furniture and assets to its new office building including visitor chairs, conference chairs, office chairs, conference tables, bookshelves, water dispensers, notice boards, and smart TVs; all summing up to 57 different kinds of furniture and other indoor assets. The supports aim to strengthen Makao WMA operation in wildlife management. These furniture and assets is additional support after similar supports in 2021/2022, TNRF supported them with camera traps (25) and successful construction of the office block within WMA through collaborative project funded by BMZ1, implemented by TNRF in partnership with WWTCO. TNRF and WWFTCO believes these continues support are sustainably enhancing WMA management and Village Game Scouts to undertake daily duties including wildlife monitoring, habitat assessment and anti-poaching efforts. We are proud ambassadors of the first ever National Rabbit Festival @thenationalrabbitfestival taking place in 3 months time (7th October, 10am-4pm) at Millennium Point Birmingham. It is being run by a team of volunteers from 3 different welfare-focused rescues in the UK; @ivydenerabbitrescue who founded & have funded the event, @rabbitresidence & @thebunnyjackpotfoundation The aims of the event are to advocate & educate and to celebrate rabbits 🥳 Summary of what to expect… The event stands for high welfare & is pro-rescue & anti-breeder. The UK is in the midst of a rabbit crisis & the organisers want this event to support the mission of rescues in fighting to improve the current situation. It is a vegan event. There will be lots of yummy food available to buy. Merchandise will be designed & created responsibly using recycled & plant-based materials where possible. Being prey animals & only comfortable in their own, safe environment, there will obviously be no rabbits at the event. There will be a variety of speakers & a mixture of vendors selling rabbit related items for your bunnies and you'll be able to meet & help fundraise for the rescues in attendance. The products available to buy should all be safe & beneficial to bunnies. There won't be any items containing corn, seeds or compressed sawdust etc. To the best of their ability, the organisers have assessed every vendor to make sure they are selling the best products. The festival is accessible for people with disabilities. It doesn't matter if you've cared for rabbits your whole life or are a new bunny guardian, everyone is welcome. The future of rabbit welfare is in the hands of the children of today. Children are encouraged to attend to learn about rabbits in a fun & engaging way. One of the aims of the event is to advocate for rabbits & their requirements as a species. The five welfare needs of rabbits will be at the heart of the event. It is going to be the perfect opportunity for us like-minded, rabbit lovers to all come together. Tickets are selling fast. Over 500 already sold.
