I haven't been competing for a couple weekends now, but I have been having an awesome time varmint hunting in Montana and Idaho! My FIL and I spent a few days in Montana and then a few days in Idaho with my SIL. We had an awesome time and helped the farmers quell their herds of ground squirrels, gophers, and Prairie dogs. Here are the majority of the stages from The Western Regional Championship down in Sac-town. As I said before, the rain put a damper on day 1, but even with it, the stages were excellent this year. There were several that lined up well for BUG division and all those reloads! It took me a minute to get back into the swing of things, but I love that little P365 for this division. I had a different plan than most for the car stage but my plan worked out pretty well. I've been attending this match for a number of years, and this one was probably my favorite. Just finished The Western Reigional IDPA Championship down in Sacramento. The weather did not cooperate the 1st day and was about the worst conditions I've ever shot in. But our squad was mostly Washington peeps, so we had a good time shooting and squashing around in the mud and rain. Day 2 was beautiful, though. We had a few other folks on our squad who weren't too off put by our shenanigans. The MD and AC followed @joshstone1979 around most of the day, which is to be expected. All in good fun. I'm back to CCP after this match, but I had a great time shooting my little BUG gun again. As Marcie's husband likes to say, it's the real-life division, lol. If @shootIDPA would change BUG to 10 rounds, I'd probably shoot it exclusively. We just need a few people in high places to help make the change! Well, the 2024 Hunters HD Gold Western WA Regional Championship is finished. It was a fun match, and I almost enjoyed working with and setting up the match with friends more than shooting sometimes. Here are the stages from an awesome IDPA match today at Fenton F&G. After not shooting irons, IDPA, and my CCP appendix setup in over a month, I feel pretty good about how it went. I dropped just a few points I probably shouldn't have, dropped a mag on out of the pouch, and had to pick it up on my first stage. Other than that, smoothe sailing. Here are the stages from the Fairfax USPSA match tonight at the NRA range. This is the last match of my work gun intensive work trip. I am headed home this weekend, and I cant wait to see the girls. If you have to be away from family, it helps to shoot a ton of matches and train, though. This match was a few quick stages and a classifier. I had a little trouble with a squib load, but got it worked out. With this score added to the mix, I'll have raised my overall percentage by 12% in a month. Here are a couple of stages from a USPSA match a few days ago. It seems like everyone is shooting the 23 classifiers lately, so I'm on board too. I was a little hesitant for the middle two targets with the penalty targets, but 11 A's and 1 C was good enough for a 91.15%. I'm no classifier math whiz, but the HHF on this one seems to be a little on the low side. Although, I much prefer the movement oriented classifiers we've seen of late. Here are the stages from today's IDPA match at Paul Bunyan. The weather did not cooperate very well. It was a wet day, and we had quite a number of no-shows. For me, I'd rather shoot wet and warm than cold but dry. It was warm enough. This is my CCP gun wrapped up in an old-school plastic grip frame. I think I like it the best so far. It's funny how I started IDPA shooting a plastic frame. Then I got to thinking I gotta have the weight of a tungsten frame, then maybe a lighter aluminum frame, and now I've come full circle to liking the old plastic frame. I probably could have saved a whole lot of money and just stuck to plastic from the beginning! Looks Lik Instagram is back to working relatively normally. Here are the stages, minus one that I didn't get recorded. It was my worst stage anyway! I blew it. The night match was fun, and the squad made it that way, a bunch of old friends and a few new ones. I shot my new duty gun to give it a whirl. It's a G45 with an Acro P2 on top. Yes, I'm finally issued a dot and I'm looking forward to shooting more dot guns in the future! Probably not this year, but I have a few builds on the way that will be getting the dot treatment! I got out for a little small/carry gun practice. I'm trying to shoot on Sundays because Rory has basketball games on Saturday, and I love to watch her play. I don't think I would ever carry that little LCP Max with the romeo zero on it. The dot sits pretty high on the slide and adds bulk, so I might as well carry a gun that's easier to shoot at that size. This was the last chance to see if I liked the Max well enough to keep them, and I think the answer is no. The 365 line, whichever you choose, is small enough and shootsble enough to make a gun like the Max irrelevant. I shot the Macro build I'm working on too. I wanted to shoot my new Glock 43X since the season is pretty much over, and I needed a good test to feel comfortable carrying that thing. Here is about the only stage that went well for me today at the ASI match at PB, and one from Nick. Every now and again, I get a wild hair and want to shoot my pocket gun, an LCP Max. I also convinced @nbrodie18 to shoot his LCP, but his LCP game is weak! I don't know how he was able to shoot a gen1 LCP as well as he did! It was good to get a feel for how these guns behave, my Max did not like the rain! Here are the stages from the IDPA match today at Paul Bunyan. This was a fun match, and I'm happy to be back into the off-season and shooting my carry guns! This is my G43X back-up gun. I'm not much for Glock, but with a Hogue slip on grip to fill my hand and a TLR-6 out front, this is a decent little shooter. I had a few mental mistakes that cost me some time on the clock, but I'm pleased to report that the Shield Arms 15rd magazines ran excellently. I was skeptical after what I had heard about them, but so far, so good for me! Here are the front half stages from the IDPA World Championship. These went well for me also. I think I prioritized accuracy a bit too much. I looked at the stages Wednesday before I shot and thought there were a lot of tight shots, so I turned up the accuracy. As far as that goes, I executed my strategy excellently, only dropping 13 points total, winning most accurate iron sights, but I think that strategy hurt me in the division standings. Live and learn, I guess. I'll have plenty more opportunities. I ended 3rd place Master, 4th in CCP, and 15th iron sights. I will get the stages up at some point, but this is how it turned out for me. 3rd place Master CCP and Most Accurate iron sight shooter at the match, and I believe most accurate pistol.
