Last year, all of our teams attended The Quest on a partial paid bid! We love giving all of our athletes the opportunity to compete for rings at Quest against the best of the best! We have had the pleasure of growing our program while getting to watch our athletes grow up with us. A large portion of our program has been with UMCA for at least five years and some of our 2024 seniors have spent 9-10 years with us! Majority of our athletes move through our program until they age out and become UMCA Alumni. Our UMCA Alumni are the best! No matter where they are, they are always watching, loving, and supporting us! They stop by the gym to say hello, they come to competitions to cheer us on and some of them have even stepped up to fill in when we needed them most. We currently have 5 UMCA alumni on our coaching staff and will be adding 2 more alumni coaches for our upcoming season. You might be asking yourself "Why UMCA?" Reason 2: The Cost! At UMCA, we only charge exactly what is needed to provide our athletes with an amazing experience. Our cost goes directly to maintaining our gym, competition fees, professional choreography, custom music, various practice shirts, celebrations, showcase and more! UMCA was created to give athletes an "allstar cheerleading" experience for a fraction of the cost! Our program competes at the same events, such as Battle at the Boardwalk, Reach the Beach, US Finals and our very own championship event "The Quest" at the ESPN Center in Orlando. Rec cheer offers levels 1-4 and utilizes the same scoresheet as all star programs. Last season, our athletes attended nine regular season Varsity competitions and two Varsity post season events: The Quest and US Finals. On top of all of the competitions, we LOVE to spoil our kids. Season 10 wraps up in just two weeks! That means that it's time to start thinking about how we can grow in Season 11! 💛🖤 This evaluation guide outlines the elite skills for level 1-4 stunts and tumbling. Frequently Asked Questions: 💛 What ages and levels do you offer? Our program offers ages 3-18 and levels 1-4. We will not know exactly what teams we will field for Season 11 but our plan for this season is to focus on growth! Last season we had: 🩷 Dynamite (Exhibition Ages 3-5) 💙 Havoc (8u Level 1) 💚 Vicious (12u Level 1) 💜 Chaos (14u Level 2) ❤️ Reckless (18u Level 4.2) 💛What are evaluations? Evaluations are similar to tryouts but every athlete will make a team! We use evaluations to assess the skillset of each athlete to place them on the team that is the best fit. 💛 Is experience required? No prior experience is required! We are so excited when athletes start their cheerleading journey with us. We love to teach! 💛 What is the evaluation process? Evaluation Week is May 20th-23rd. Evaluations Nights (May 20-May 21): All athletes will come to their assigned evaluation time slot based on birth year. During this time, athletes will be evaluated on tumbling, stunting, jumps, dance, etc. Call Backs (May 22-23): Call Backs are done on an as needed basis. Athletes may be called back to see more tumbling or stunting skills, stunt with a different age group, tryout as a different stunt position, etc. After Evaluations, our coaching staff will build our Season 11 teams! Athletes are placed on teams based on their skillset, age and the needs of each team. Our goal is to build strong, well rounded teams throughout our entire program.
