Factor 30 & 50 because I’m a pale bébé lol but it was lush just sitting & reading 🫶 I’ve been super hard on myself recently about literally every aspect of my body & my personality & heart, feeling like nothing about me was ‘good enough’ so I’m trying super hard to flip that around & just BE. Last year I had the privilege of reviewing the Hamilton Khaki Aviation Pilot, and my time with it was very enlightening. This timepiece represented a shift in the marketplace where Swiss watchmaking in the entry-luxury space was back at full strength. Hamilton just released a special edition to the watch I reviewed last year, and if you were on the fence before, then I would highly recommend that you take a look at the Air-Glaciers Edition. Having nearly half of its weight removed by moving to a titanium case may have been enough for some brands. But Hamilton added a gorgeous half-exhibition caseback, and a distinctive centre-seconds that most certainly sets it apart from every other watch in your immediate setting. The watch comes in a bespoke pelican case and two straps - one which is a sumptuous suede nubuck strap and a leather-lined nylon velcro strap. The Air-Glaciers are a helicopter search and rescue team operating out of the Swiss Alps. Gear and tools for rescue teams are highly optimized, and the new lightweight case of this pilot watch, which also boasts 100m water resistance, is ready for your next personal adventure. The Smokey ’44 by @verowatchcompany commemorates the year Smokey Bear was founded by artist Albert Staehle on behalf of the US Forest Service, (in the same year of the D-Day landings, 1944). We are reminded of a similar mix of historical events when in midst of the US Civil War, Abraham Lincoln signed into law the protection of a valley and grove of trees, which would later become Yosemite National Park. With its 38mm case, the Smokey ’44 wears easily and has a vintage case style similar to 1940s pieces we have worked on. Although now sold out, we’ve heard Smokey fans only need to wait a few more months for news of a new release! In keeping with the forest theme, we’ve fitted our Smokey ’44 with the Olive Drab AAF 2 piece strap here, which although based on a B-17 scheme, coincidently shares the same green/ sage colors of the NPS uniform design. 🌲

Another one that has had to leave to make room for my nwa. This was my 4th Hamilton from the khaki range and I really did think it would stick but it seemed like the natural choice to move on in light of my new Spirit. One bit of good news was that as I bought it with a discount just before the Hamilton price increase, I pretty much got my money back, which you don’t expect with a Hamilton. It has got me thinking about Hamilton prices though and whether I would still buy one. One part of my brain says that they are still worth their current prices. But the other part would resist buying one for 20% more than I paid last time.
