[Nevado Juncal - Alto de los Leones] Pocos meses han pasado desde que ascendimos estas tremendas montañas y pareciera ser que fue hace muchos años. Iconos emblemáticos de la ciudad de Los Andes y de la cordillera central de Chile. Asediados por las miradas que todos los Aconcagüinos que disfrutan sus escarpadas paredes desde la vida citadina, sin duda uno de los grandes privilegios de vivir en el valle de Aconcagua. Ante el cuasi retiro de la Cordada que me acompañó por años a los más osados proyectos @edeepblue y que creyó en mí desde el inicio, pensé que ya no volvería a soñar en grande, ya que para mí la cordada es crucial en la montaña y no voy al cerro con cualquier persona. Hasta que por arte de magia se formó una gran amistad con algunos miembros del CAU que comparten el mismo espíritu, ética montañera y gozamos del buen humor. Dentro del grupete @rafael_andresreinoso y @emil.stefani me invitaron a participar del ascenso al Nevado Juncal y luego surgió la idea de regresar por el Alto de los Leones. Dentro de todo el revuelo de la minera dentro del Parque andino juncal, me tomo el tiempo para reflexionar sobre cuán importantes son nuestras montañas, el significado que tienen para uno y con quienes me he tomado el tiempo de compartir gratos y buenos momentos en estas bellezas. Sometimes birds can remind you of characters can’t they? I laughed out loud when I took these photos…this tiny red-legged honeycreeper was hanging onto this branch for dear life in 50+ mph winds. It had just stopped raining and I guess it was drying out its feathers and trying to keep warm but all I could see from its expression was ‘Animal’ the mad drummer from the Muppets 🤣🤣 Monteverde, Costa Rica
Sarah spotted a bird in dark shadows of the forest here on the shores of Apoyo Lagoon. Then we realised that it was the turquoise-browed motmot. This exotic little beauty is the national bird of Nicaragua as well as El Salvador. Seeing it was difficult enough but getting a photograph, now that was a challenge!

A good start to our trip with very cheerful staff at #gatwickairport and then a long but good flight with excellent service from the friendly and efficient flight attendants - I like to be positive where I can so thank you #britishairways. A quick tour around San Jose today. I’m not a great fan of cities most of the time but San Jose was fun and I even managed to capture a few photos of butterflies. These ones are Swallowtails, so I’m told because I know nothing about butterflies 🤣

Flamingoes way down the hill on Lake Bunyampaka in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. This was our first ever sighting of flamingoes in Africa and, although it was at a distance, seeing them on the shimmimering lake was captivating.

Als wir vor ein paar Monaten in Australien gelandet sind, waren wir erstmal geschockt. Geschockt von den Unterkunftspreisen, der Autosuche, dem für uns sehr eigenartigen Vogelgezwitscher…. Gestern sind wir abgereist und waren uns so sicher wie noch nie, dass wir auf alle Fälle wieder kommen werden. Ein kleines Stück unseres Herzens gehört jetzt Australien. Es ist teuer, leer, meistens nur eine Strasse zum Ziel und es gibt oft keinen guten Empfang - aber es war ein wahnsinnig schönes Abenteuer! It's expensive, empty, usually only one road to the destination and there is often no good reception - but it was an incredibly beautiful adventure! We thought about it for a while today...We love the vastness of the sea, the hustle and bustle of this city, the language(s) and temperatures. ☺️ But Sydney is definitely at the very other end of our families and Europe. Our home is near all these different countries and possibilities, it is also incredibly beautiful and diverse... So can’t say we want to live abroad forever right now… Our world trip continues for a few more months, but one thing we know for sure... Wir sind fast 15.000km Luftlinie von zu Hause entfernt und das allererste Mal nicht zu Hause, wenn die Adventszeit und Weihnachten beginnt… ✨ Unser Alltag war in den letzten Monate immer schneller, höher und mehr… Und in nichtmal zwei Wochen geht es für uns auch schon weiter ins nächste (Landes-) Abenteuer… trotzdem merken wir langsam, dass wir uns freuen wenn wir für einige Zeit auch etwas haltmachen, ankommen und Revue passieren lassen…🌖 Die nächsten Tage wollen wir ganz viel geniessen - wenn keine Sonnenuntergänge ansehen, dann Regen plätschern hören, Filme schauen und uns überlegen was wir genau an Weihnachten machen möchten… Auch wollen wir für noch mehr Dinge dankbar sein und langsam aber sicher uns von diesem wahnsinnig schönen Jahr verabschieden… ✨🌏 ••••••••••••••••••• We are almost 15,000 km from home and for the first time ever, we are not at home when the Advent season and Christmas begins... ✨ Our everyday life has been faster, higher and more almost every day in the last few months... And in less than two weeks we are off to the next country and the next adventure... We're slowly realizing that we're also happy to stop for a while, arrive and review... We want to enjoy the next few days a lot - if we don't see sunsets, then hearing the rain splashing, watching films and thinking about what exactly we are doing at Christmas...
