Zastava Koral In 1.1 (2002 - 2008) 🇷🇸 ——————————————————————— Here's third Koral In from the show. It's the same version as the previous one, yet there are some differences. Firstly, the color. In this nice yellow color, the Koral In looks really cute. Quite unexpectedly, this is the first yellow Koral In I'm uploading here. The differences continue with Seicento mirrors and older type of third brake light positioned inside, instead of on the rear spoiler. Also, the dash with digital gauges. These all point out this Yugo is a late, 2007 or 2008 model. I love how polished Koral alloy wheels look here, even though they aren't period correct wheels for Koral In. The car is in really nice shape, though the paint is peeling from rear bumper and rear spoiler should be repainted because it has faded away. Zastava Koral 1.1 (2002 - 2008) 🇷🇸 ——————————————————————— Here's another Yugo from the meet. This time it's a standard 1.1 Koral Yugo, equipped with 1116cc 55 HP engine. If you take all the pre facelift Yugos, these late Koral are the most common ones. Now, if you look closely you'll see 1.4 badge. I'm seeing this car in the city for years and I always thought this is some kind of one off model somebody put 1.4 engine into. Because Zastava did make such prototypes after all. But the explanation is much more simpler. When I spoke to the owner on the meet, he told me that original 1.1 badge actually was lost or fell, so he went to buy another in car parts store. Because they didn't have that badge on stock, but had 1.4, the owner decided to buy that one and put it onto car. The Yugo is in excellent condition and what sets it apart from other red 1.1s is pristine metallic blue paint and period correct alloys. This car is actually from 2000s, as you can see from the title. Yugo Tempo 1.1 (1995 - 2002) 🇷🇸 ——————————————————————— Next up here's a custom Yugo Tempo. Since Yugo is an extremely affordable, but at the same time really quirky and customizable car. So, actually it's not uncommon to see Yugos customized. Basically most of those modified Yugos have custom paint, wheels, but also tuned mechanics. Particular example has that awesome metallic green paint which goes well with golden alloy wheels. Also, front apron is really nice addition. Then, other mods include custom headlights, grille, rear louvres, In rear lights, custom exhaust and that rear panel between lights also from In. To be honest, that last mod isn't up to my taste, since I've always liked the look with license plate being positioned between lights since it gives the car quite sporty and distinctive look. Yugo Koral 55 CL (1994 - 1998) 🇷🇸 ——————————————————————— For #obscuremonday here's the last find from Novi Sad. For now. A golden Yugo. Even though during 90s Zastava did have some not so tasty colors, there were actually some rather interesting and even nice colors, like this metallic golden one. It's truly unique and actually rather rare to see, since this Yugo is a mere second Zastava I've seen in this color. The reason why it's rare it's simply because it's a metallic color which is paid additionally. When this car was new I believe not many people would've opted for an additional cost. After all, the CL was a bit more expensive than the standard Yugo. The car isn't in particularly good condition, the paint is quite rough, especially on bonnet. Also, it seems that wing has had an repair because of that mismatched color bit. Bumpers are in black, which isn't the correct color for the CL, since it had solely color coded ones. Front bumper indicators are also not original, since all Yugos of this age had light with integrated running lights and indicators. Under the bonnet is standard 1116cc 55 HP engine. Ne može se to objasniti. I dok drugi klinci pate i opsednuti su Ferarijima, Lambordžinijima, "njemcima", Formulama, snagama konja, potrošnjama, veličinama, brzinama... i dok se, kobajagi razumiju pa im je sve ispod tog njihovog sranje i krš a po sveskama lijepe samo "najbolje", tebi je najbolji - On! Fascinira te iako nema šanse da objasniš zašto, jedmostavno Ga obožavaš, cool ti je, vrh ti je... Iako već kao klinac znaš da ni On ni ostali koje proizvodi njegova marka nisu ni približno kvalitetni ni dobri kao ostali koje tvoji vršnjaci "obožavaju", ti Ga jednostavno voliš baš kao i sve koji pripadaju toj marki. I uprkos svemu dok ga drugi ismjevaju, kako njega tako i tebe jer "voliš kantu" i "nemaš pojma" i svoje školske sveske "ukrašavaju" samo najboljima, ti sebi čak daješ truda pa svog obožavanog četvorotočkaša precrtavaš sa postera hemijskom olovkom preko indiga i zatim ga lijepiš usred sveske i uživaš čak i dok si živčan na školskom času. I sve druge sveske su odavno bačene, ali samo ta nije. Sačuvana je samo zbog Njega već više od 25 godina. Yugo Koral 45 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One more abandoned Yugo, this time more special than the others because of it's brown interior. Intertior color tells us that this Yugo is from the 80s - it's an old Yugo and it's a classic. This is also my favourite Yugo combination - Brown interior and wider taillights. I think it's a Koral 45, correct me of I am wrong. Since this's car's registration expired in 2013, it seems to be in awesome condition. Witajcie w kolejnym odcinku #cykljugosłowianski Mało kto wie ale w drugiej połowie lat 90tych próbowano ponownie wprowadzić Korala na rynek USA, za całą hecą znów stał Malcolm Bricklin, czyli człowiek który potrafił sprzedawać ludziom w Stanach dziwactwa motoryzacyjne z różnych zakątków świata. Swoją drogę w świecie motoryzacyjnym zaczął od wprowadzenia na rynek USA produktów Fuji Heavy Industries, czyli skuterów i malutkich samochodzików Subaru 360, które niedługo później zostały okrzyknięte najniebezpieczniejszym samochodem w USA co spowodowało drastyczny spadek sprzedaży. Następnym pojazdem w którym maczał palce był Bricklin SV-1. Samochód ten miał być z kolei najbezpieczniejszym pojazdem w kraju hamburgerów, ale (kto by się spodziewał) też nie odniósł sukcesu sprzedając się w oszałamiającej liczbie 2854 egzemplarzy. Następnym przedsięwzięciem był import Fiatów X1/9 i tak dochodzimy do Yugo America, która to założona została w 1980. Do upadku w 1991 roku Yugo America sprowadziło i sprzedało 160 tysięcy Yugo Korali. Na zdjęciach pokazany jest prototyp Yugo Euro, czyli następcy Yugo GV/GVX (tak nazywano Korala w Stanach), Bricklin planował wprowadzenie zmodernizowanego Yugo znów jako najtańszego nowego samochodu w USA. Powstały w 1998 roku prototyp wyposażono w przednie światła z Yugo Floridy zderzak z włókna szklanego, silnik 1300 z wielopunktowym wtryskiem i klimatyzację. Z tego co wyczytałem w internetach sprzedaż planowano od roku 2000, ale całość wzięła w łeb w związku z bombardowaniem fabryki Zastavy przez NATO w 1999 roku (Zastava produkowała broń) i sankcjami nałożonymi na Serbię w związku z konfliktem w Kosowie. Po tym ambarasie Malcolm zainteresowany był współpracą z FSO, ale temat odpuścił. Zastava Koral In L 1.1i (2002 - 2008) 🇷🇸 ——————————————————————— I can't believe how long I haven't posted a Koral In. Since last year's June till now, there wasn't any Koral In on my page. The reason is relatively simple - the most common version of Yugo is exactly Koral In, so amongst all those Koral Ins you need to select examples interesting enough to spot. This one is a bit more interesting than average red Koral In 1.1, since it's colored in dark green and powered by 1124cc 60 HP Peugeot's TU1 petrol engine. Particular example is in rather good condition, though there are some issues. Zastava Yugo Koral 1988—1995 🎯 #motorcarspottingzastava The Zastava Yugo Koral is a version of the Yugo compact car, originally launched in 1980 as Zastava’s new main model. The Yugo was based on a shortened version of the Fiat 128. The car was available as a three-door hatchback and as a two-door convertible. This is a 88—95 Yugo Koral. Models that came before it had smaller tail light setups, and models that came after this, including the otherwise externally similar Yugo Tempo, had square side blinkers (American-market Yugos had rectangular side marker lights before this). Note the Yugo Y-emblem on the front. Note also that this Koral has post-2016 EU Zagreb plates. The Yugo series had multiple different names throughout its production, initially being simply named Zastava Yugo. The Koral name appeared in 1987. In North America, the car was sold as the Yugo GV series, while in Italy, the car was sold as the Innocenti Koral in the 90s. In marketing, Yugo was often used as a brand name instead of a model name, especially in export markets, but also in Yugoslavia and other Balkan markets in the 90s. In 1995, the Yugo Tempo was launched as new entry-level model. I have previously featured a Yugo Tempo. The Koral name disappeared for 1999, when the Yugo Ciao was launched. However, in 2002, the Yugo name disappeared, with the whole series renamed Zastava Koral by 2003. These included a facelifted, more upmarket Zastava Koral In version. The Yugo series ended production in 2008 with the ending of Zastava Koral and Koral In; simultaneously, Zastava itself was discontinued. Yugo (1980 - 2008) 🇷🇸 ——————————————————————— I normally put years of production of specific models for Zastavas, yet here it was actually pretty hard to do so. This Yugo from the outside looks like a Tempo/Koral from the second half of 90s and early 00s, because it has characteristic features for that model. No quarterlights is the most obvious. Also, the same color as that 2001 Florida In could clearly point out it's a model from this period. Yet, it turns out this Yugo is from 1984! How is this possible, you may ask? Well, there's one possible answer and that's body swap. During one period, it was possible to buy a body shell for a certain car straight from factory. People whose cars were rusty beyond repair opted for that option and essentially transferred all the good bits from that old, rusty body to the new one. That mostly didn't include transferring model specific parts, such as grilles, badges, etc. That way ended up with car looking like current models at the time, while having engines from the original, old model. By having older engine, for the year of production of these cars was taken the year engine was built in. LA PALABRA “RARO” SE QUEDO CHICO ANTE ESTE CARRO. Zastava fue una asambladora de vehiculos paraestatal de Yugoslavia. El Yugo GV (originalmente conocido como Zastava Jugo/Yugo) es un vehículo hecho usando como referencia el Fiat 128. Yugo llegaría a Estados Unidos gracias a la ayuda de Malcolm Bricklin y llegaria a ser el vehículo nuevo más barato del mercado. A pesar de ser el coche con mayor accesibilidad, fue un coche que para el tiempo quedo anticuado, la calidad de armado no era la mejor y el rendimiento simplemente quedaba a deber. Hoy en dia los Yugos son muy dificiles de encontrar en buen estado. Esta unidad es importada ya que nunca se ofrecieron en México. El coche se le encuentra en optimas condiciones y incluso el dueño me menciono que lo pintan cada 2 años para mantenerlo cuidado. Definitivamente alguien con mucho conocimiento y atrevido se lanzaria a la aventura de importar y mantener este coche ya que probablemente no debe de haber más de 10 unidades en México. Yugo Tempo 1.1 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's one of my latest spots, from last week to be precise. Most of these abandoned Yugos have been removed long ago, but this one is still here because it's "freshly abandoned" and it's sitting here since 2022. Nowdays abandoned cars are beeing removed pretty quick, so I doubt that it's gonna stay here for a long time. Yugos can still be found on car selling websites for 150e, and if nobody buys them they end up on scrapyards. As a result, there are less and less Yugos every day, and it's only a metter of time when this, once the most common car in Serbia, becomes a rare classic.
