To give you some idea of the size of this beautiful moth it's wingspan can range from 34-48mm so quite a big'n! 😮
These moths are widespread and numerous and can be seen in the daytime resting on tree trunks or buildings, like this one! You can imagine how camouflaged they would be on a tree trunk!

During the night they are busy feeding on plants that many of us may see as weeds such as Creeping Thistle and Ragwort! 🌒
They fly during July and August so you may see them if you're using a moth trap or walking through areas with trees! 👀
