This show is criminally overlooked and severly underrated. Its such a shame that it flopped at the box office despite doing many things right, perhaps the factor stopping it from shining is the haunts of the predecessor film which is infamously bad.
From the comic book series of the same name, Dredd tells the story of a Judge(Karl Urban) partnered with a rookie(Olivia Thirlby) having to bust the 'Ma-Ma' gang operations of drugs and weapons.
The story plot is really simple:Go up the residential block and take out every single gang member. Yet, in the simplicity the show is still stunning. Dredd does well in avoiding any confusing plots and focusing on a simpleplot, in which it was executed close to perfection. The fight scenes were good, the cast was also rightly chosen, if I might say. Karl Urban is amazing with his mouth, because in the whole film only his mouth can be seen with his mask on. Olivia Thirbly and Lena Headley did their roles well aswell. And the slow-mo effects under the influence of drugs is simply amazing.
If you're looking for a good old action flick and have not watch this, I suggest you give this movie a shot.
