After seeing @mrchrisrose.cr's post of amazing male Great Bustards displaying, it reminded me of the lovely Gertrude, the ridiculously tame female that visits Stonehenge each year just for a week or two.
A quick search on the internet told me that she is currently visiting for the 9th year, I think. Well, that changed today's plans and off to Stonehenge we went!
She was there waiting for us at the end of the walk towards the stones, by the bus drop off/pick up. I was so close that I could easily have stroked her (which of course I wouldn't do). It did give me such a good view of her beautiful plumage. And the opportunity to take a couple of selfies... I'll spare you those! 😂
