"Dignity was, in his opinion, an essential quality in a queen."

This book has single-handedly awakened my love for reading. Do not let the 495 paged tome scare you dear readers, because for the first time in a long time, I swept through this behemoth in two days!

This Woven Kingdom by @Tahereh is a brilliant, spellbinding story inspired by Persian mythology. It focuses on the journey of Alizeh, a long lost queen of the Jinn Kingdom who hides in the obscurity of a mere servant. When a chance encounter incites the attention of Prince Kamran, a series of events follows that will literally have you gasping and freaking out. The ending is insane and I am going to read the next book asap.

I loved the writing style; it is different from Shatter me because it takes a omniscient style that has alternating chapters between Alizeh and Kamran, but I loved how polished and educated the writing was. The descriptions really allow you to sink into the world as easily as slipping on a glove.

The characters were interesting. Kamran is giving off some Adam vibes tbh, but I'll know for sure when reading the sequel. Alizeh is kind and smart, but still subjected to cruelty and instances of poor judgment. I kind of wish that Tahereh didn't write her to be like Juliette and instead of being unsure of herself I wished she was more confident and aware. But I know her journey will eventually lead there. As for Cyrus, he's giving Aaron Warner vibes and the banter between him and Alizeh is amazing.

Overall I loved this book, and while I acknowledge some readers' views that the build up was a bit long, I agree to an extent, but I do feel that the payoff in the plot is worth it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Have you read This Woven Kingdom yet?
