Anima is an interdisciplinary art work that goes through various processes of creation, change and decay. All materials and components are organic and can be returned to nature at the end of their cycle.
Anima is created in four main phases:
Collection of natural materials, production of the face mask, elaboration of the body jewellery, completion as a wall sculpture with the possibility of complete return to nature (compostinq).
The aim of this work was to “reconnect” with nature and its creations and to familiarise myself with their nature, appearance and their actual purpose. So I wasn’t just interested in creating a costume from natural materials, but rather in merging artistic research with my handcraft. A dual cycle.
Nature creates, puts together, lets a guardian watch over it and brings it back again.
Birth - union - creation - return.
Anima represents the personification of the elements and the creation of nature. Embodying the essence and power of nature.
