‘All That Remains- Shimmerings’. Yes, I know it’s not a plural word and AI is trying to correct me, but it feels right, so- There. A small rebellion. Small fragments of the day, oneiric residue, light and shadows fluttering that make you think of something you re on the brink of remembering but that escapes you. It flashes past you, but something indefinite (and blue), stays with you for a brief moment. I created a Calla Lily using repurposed materials for @artbynatalya's Earth Month Repurpose Collage Challenge. The materials I used were plastic food wrappers, chopsticks, bamboo interdental picks, and a piece of a prefilled injection pen. I'm excited to share this gentle little Calla Lily, which has a unique shape and colors, making it even more special. I made it quickly, but I'm happy with how it turned out. While it may not be as open as a traditional Calla Lily, I enjoyed creating it so much that I look forward to making more flowers. I wanted to post a naturally lit photo of the flowers I make before I slowly start posting all my fancy photos this is just to show that the lighting only shows off my art. My colors are vivid in natural light as well. I don’t recommend leaving any of my artwork in natural light if it’s really hot anything above 70 degrees will probably damage it. When I was in Florida the sun did make my artwork melt😂😂😂😂🫠🫠🫠😂😩… Th peachy flower is 💯plastic petals and all… the purple flower’s petals are made from dyer sheets and the rest is plastic no glue is used on either just plastic on plastic and old school paper mache (flour salt and water)…. FAIR WARNING: bees love my flowers my artwork should always remain in doors but if you leave your windows open you could get bees around them 😂😂😂🤷♀️

Congratulations to students Stephanie Thompson, Camryn Watt, and Selena Pequeno for developing their Beasley Creative Caravan project through an NAU SPARcS Grant! The team was recognized earlier this week at the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Showcase and Reception. They are also participating in the Undergraduate Symposium today and giving tours of the The Beasley Creative Caravan. The space will be getting a lot of use in the Art Education Program in the year to come, especially with the Children’s Art Program in the Fall. The Beasley Creative Caravan is a sustainable creative workspace, available to all students at Northern Arizona University and a satellite art classroom for students in the Art Education program. It facilitates opportunities for free artistic expression, experimentation, teaching and learning, and professional development as an artist. Creative Caravan offers a free and semi private space for a multitude of art mediums available to those in greater need for access.
