I wrote this 6 years ago when I went deep into a dark place .... struggling with my thought process .... I lost all control of my emotions .... so many signs circled around me of how I truly felt, but I'd put on that smile and say I'm alright!
Little did everyone else know, I wasn't alright. I took to self harming when the kids were at school... I was in such a bad place .... my only saving grace was my kids .... I literally wept on the way to the school gates, where a couple of friends took no for an answer as they walked me to our village doctors surgery. For that day, I will be forever truly grateful.
Anyone that's facing similar demons right now .... please reach out to friends, family or even strangers like myself, because you should never be alone through your struggles. I know how hard it is to open up to others .... but believe me you are stronger than you know to get through this. It's OK not yo be OK! You are never alone. You are loved. You've got this. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.
