Planning for Parks this Summer!
There’s no better time for exploring National Parks than Summer! Wildflowers bloom across the country, birds and their songs return from migration, and temperatures warm up! In the excitement of summer, here are some things to remember when visiting National Park Sites!
-Please don’t pick wildflowers or take shells/rocks/leaves from our Parks! These wonders and gifts of nature are for EVERYONE to admire! Instead, consider taking pictures to remember and share your admiration for our Parks with others!
-Allergies can be rough for many people during Spring & Summer! Prepare accordingly and do what you need to take care of yourself! Consider extra tissues in you pocket!
-Stay on trails! Animals large & small will be coming out of their dens and burrows! Keep watch for insects, rodents, and reptiles. Especially to avoid stepping on them or fragile plants! Be bear aware!
-Birds are nesting this time of year. Take a picture of any fallen, orphaned, injured chicks & contact the nearest wildlife center or vet. They can tell you how to proceed.
