Elephant designed by Shuki Kato @shuki_kato and folded by me @akundepapel Folded from a 50 x 50 cm grey Satogami paper from @katiaorigamishop This is the best origami elephant model out there, The proportions are perfect, the details on the face, ears and body in general are amazing and it conveys the essence of the animal it looks heavy but majestic. But this comes with a price, this is a very difficult and precise model and folding sequence. The color change is natural,but since Satogami is too thick I painted on the other side with white acrylic on the Tusk area. I really liked the final result and as always Shukis' models are a challenge. Lang powder-coated fabricated aluminum What would the sweet, delicate fragrance of full-hearted love—a mother’s deep and unconditional love—look like? Perhaps it would appear as a bouquet of roses, multi-petaled, spherical, and complete, expressing through color both its purity and passion as well as the subtle gradations of feeling in between. Its bright yellow heart might beat with the possibility of future blossoms. For Box, the exquisitely beautiful, comforting scent suggested by this sculpture is also there in every moment of genuine, spontaneous giving or receiving: of kindness, respect, an apology, the spark of inspiration, a promise of hope. It is worth more than gold or silver, he says, yet at the same time, free. “I really wanted this to be for my mother, of course, but also for all the mothers in the world, for the love they have the capacity to embody and share.” Robert Lang produced the model for this piece using the Kusudama origami method of combining multiple forms, in this case roses folded from 30 uncut squares of paper.
