Pakistan is proud to be home to six of the 1,199 World Heritage Sites, each of which tells us so much about our history, cultures and connection to this ancient land. Mohenjo-daro, Takht-i-Bahi, and the Neighbouring City ruins at Sahr-i-Bahlol and Taxila were inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1980, Lahore Fort and Shalimar Gardens in 1981, and the Makli Necropolis in 1987. Pakistan has tentatively listed further 26 sites for potential World Heritage inscription in the future. World Heritage status is a challenging goal to aspire to. Our exhibition at @discoverbucksmuseum opened today! I popped along this afternoon and had a wonderful time seeing how it has all come together. My small body of figurative and landscape works in the group show at Studio Gallery, Yallingup is inspired by the iconic Australian ‘gum tree’ and my memoirs of mustering along the dry river beds on Wyloo station in the Pilbara. The ancient landscape is a ocular extreme, colours and form oppose each other in such a surreal display of diversity it feels almost ‘other worldly’. I wanted to capture the life vibrancy of the ghost gums that cling to edges of the ancient river beds, rising through the baked crustal rocks and pindan up into the endless blue with commanding grandeur. ⭐️⭐️ Exhibition opens this weekend. River Talk 2024 Photographs With respect to the traditional Country of the Taribelang Bunda, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, and Bailai Peoples. Nothing is more of an iconic thing to do in Bundaberg than hanging by the Burnett river near the Burnett Bridge and watching the sunset fade from above the bridge to below and then disappear.
