It took a while to get read this but here I am. This is why I prefer to stay blind and not read blurbs, so the book will surprise me. I read the blurb of this book and I wasn’t feeling it and I regret putting this off based on the blurb. But hey, I’m here, I liked it, spice is chef’s kisses. This is some wild spice and the way gasped on the spicy scenes. The storyline was good, although I was expecting more action-packed. The climax was idk, too much door-slamming. Evelina’s father, Ezekiel (he could’ve given more screentime here), Agent Baum, and Nick, like all these characters had the same entrance in one time frame. 😂 The ending was meh, I feel like it was rushed. The story was good, just in the last few pages could’ve given the readers more. Jeg var meget spændt på “Tillid” af Hernan Diaz, der er udgivet på dansk af @lindhardtogringhof , fordi jeg ikke havde hørt andet end godt om den. “I 1920ernes New York gør Helen og Benjamin Rask sig bemærkede som det ultimative power-par: Han er en berygtet Wall Street-magnat, og hun er knivskarp og født ind i det velhavende aristokrati.…” Parret indtager en sikker plads i samfundet, men da en kvinde vælger at skrive en bog om parret, giver det hende og læserne en masse stof til eftertanke og der kan sættes spørgsmålstegn ved meget i power parrets liv. Jeg er vild med historien-i-historien plottet, men jeg faldt altså lidt ud af takt, da der kom fokus på børssituationen i verden- også selvom det hele hang sammen. Book Review (ft. my baby bump): Funny Story By: Emily Henry 4 ⭐️ SUMMARY: After being dumped by her fiancé Peter after he starts a relationship with his best friend Petra, Daphne finds herself living with Petra’s ex, Miles. THOUGHTS: Emily Henry books are always popular and splashed all over Booksta but it really is for a good reason! They are always entertaining, well written, and often really funny at times. Funny Story was certainly no exception and is a great addition to the EH collection 👏🏻 I loved Daphne and Miles banter and how their relationship progressed throughout the story. I always go into Emily Henry’s books thinking I know how to plot will develop, and every time she surprises me - so don’t anticipate this is going to be a super cliche plot line. There’s a great cast of characters and the focus on Daphne developing more female friendships was one of my favorite aspects of the book. I can’t really think of a better beach read for this summer so definitely pick this one up if you haven’t already!

🌹 HESTER 🪡🧵 [ad/gifted] I’ve been meaning to do a lil review of this one for a while now because I loved it! ~ r e v i e w ~ Hester is an homage to women and female friendships and I found it captivating from the start. Learning a bit about the settlement at Salem was so intriguing - it’s not something I’ve read much about at all. And while it is synonymous with the witch trials, this book only touches on that side, and I would say touches more on slavery in America. There are definitely some elements of “witchcraft” and the fantastical, which appealed to me, but it’s also a love story, designed to give fictional possibilities as to the inspiration for The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Hvad får dig med garanti til at græde ved en bog? Jeg kan slet ikke stoppe med at græde, hvis der sker noget med børn eller dyr(specielt hunde) i en bog. Samtidig drager bøger med hunde i handling eller på forsiden mig også, hvorfor “Keira & Me” af Noel Fitzpatrick naturligt endte nede i min indkøbskurv. Fortællingen er simpel. Den handler om Noel, der arbejder som dyrlæge og virkelig har det skidt psykisk - indtil han møder hunden Keira, der får lov til at komme helt ind under huden på Noel. Noel vælger at tage Keira til sig og den tid de ender med at have sammen, lærer Noel meget om livet og får ham til at se lysere på tilværelsen. De to bliver et fantastisk makkerpar, men som det jo tit er med hunde, må Noel tage afsked med Keira - dog vil han altid have Keira i sit hjerte og erindring. Jeg sad naivt og ventede på at komme ind til en lægetid, da jeg fløj igennem denne illustrativt smukke fortælling - om jeg fortrød mit valg af læsespot? Oh yes, for hold nu op…. I did not see that coming. Keira lever jo ikke for evigt, hvilket Noel så smukt for tæller om, og så begyndte jeg først at ugly Cry. Det er en livsbekræftende og smuk fortælling. Den bekræfter mig i, at dyr kan noget specielt for os mennesker og vi skal være taknemlige, hvis vi har nogle i vores liv. En bog om livets værdi og hvordan et positivt livssyn kan lyse selv de mørkeste tider op. ✨REVIEW✨ The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams Published August 2022 @williammorrowbooks ⭐️3.5/5 I had heard such great things about this book. The theme was lovely - two characters with nothing in common find a connection and build a beautiful friendship over books and their new love of reading. I found it, though, very hard to get into. Was honestly considering it a DNF but I persevered and am happy I did. Was beautiful to see the relationship Mukesh made with Aleisha, as well as his young granddaughter, Priya. The ending was a lovely wrap up to the book and I loved the authors own reading list at the end. I loved the reading list put together with favourites, with one of my faves To Kill A Mockingbird at the top. ❓if you were to put a reading list together, what books would add? Забавно, но ещё в самом первом списке книг, которые я хотела бы прочитать, значился "Сталкер". Я не вполне понимала, что меня ждёт, просто было любопытно. Мир с зоной отчуждения, который придумали братья Стругацкие, получил иной разворот. И я совсем не ожидала, что это будет игра VR виртуальная реальность, где ИИ искусственный интеллект будет играть людьми (а не наоборот). Как же актуально найти эту книгу в прорывное время для ИИ 😱 Обычно братьям Стругацким удавалось быть вне времени. Эта книга имеет отсылки к годам написания (2013). Это чувствовалось по словам и гиковскому сленгу. Многим (как я), кто упорно играл в компьютер в это время, почувствуется ностальгия по тем временам. Итак, виртуальная зона вокруг АЭС, компьютерная игра, все игроки сталкеры. Владельцы виртуальной игры отлично заработали на игроках, поставляя не только мрачный мир зоны, но и амуницию, типа шлемов и костюмов для погружения в виртуальную реальность. Игра начинает сбоить, и начинаются настоящие нешуточные приключения, которые унесут не одну жизнь. Авторы будут ходить по тонком краю реальности и игры. Читатель узнает, кто в реальности стоит за каждым игровым аватаром, переживёт не один бой, поймёт правила зоны отчуждения и изучит мутантов, которые её населяют. Мне понравилась идея и количество экшена, боевых сцен, суровости судьбы мира зоны отчуждения. Не понравился юмор (совсем не похожий на юмор братьев Стругацких) и иногда предсказуемость помощи героям из неоткуда, когда позарез надо выжить. Я продержалась до конца только на желании узнать, кто такой Картограф, и почему он помог главным героям Егору, Яне и Мишке. Наверное, для какого-то знакомства с историей мейнстримовых книг, могу рекомендовать её, только если вы не будете ждать очень много от тоненькой книжки 2013 года и тем более не будете ждать от неё чего-то похожего на книги Стругацких по глубине содержания. 😁 Поулыбаться: книга стоит 82 рубля в популярных интернет-магазинах. Life recently☕️☁️📚☀️: He estado teniendo serios problemas para encontrar momentos en donde pueda sentarme a leer. Por eso no he avanzado tanto como quisiera con esta historia. También he estado tomando más café de lo usual, lo que me tiene pensando mucho en todo y en nada, gracias al universo que existe mi diario, porque sin él ya habría perdido la cabeza. Este fin de semana ha estado cargado de caos en mi mente gracias a mi lectura actual. Estoy leyendo, y al mismo tiempo me estoy preguntando qué diablos es lo que está pasando. Pero no lo puedo soltar, porque el bendito libro me está gustando mucho. Me emociona saber a donde va a parar todo esto. Empecé esta lectura sabiendo muy poco, y sigo sin entender muy bien las cosas, pero como amo como está escrito. En fin, amo cuando los libros me desordenan así la mente.

It was a roller coaster ride, where it felt like it gets boring and interesting at the same time. It didn’t really capture my attention that much. Maybe, I should’ve reread the whole series, because I kinda forgot what happened in the last 3 books. It probably affected my review on this 4th one. The spice in this book is very spicy. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I feel like every interaction between Persephone and Hades, turns into spice. I need some little normalcy interaction, a decent conversation without leading into intimacy, s*x or physical touch. It was a little too much. Then there’s Hermes, a conversation between him and other characters are entertaining, but I feel like those are fillers and unnecessary just to make the story longer. Onto the last part of the book, it’s meh. For jeg er lige fløjet igennem “Kvinderne på Grand Hôtel” af Ruth Kvarnström-Jones, som er udgivet af @ciceroforlag . “I begyndelsen af det 20. århundrede er det ikoniske Grand Hôtel i Stockholm centrum for overklassens fester og udskejelser. Hotellet er en af byens smukkeste perler, men det er i økonomiske vanskeligheder.…” Lidt ulig sin tid bliver en kvinde, Fru Skogh, angst som bestyrer til at vende den økonomiske situation - en opgave, som hun skal overveje, inden hun takker ja til at varetage. Den unge Ottilia, som arbejder for fru Skogh på et andet hotel, søger med Skogh, får en plads og sammen skaber de to mirakler i forhold til ledelsesevner og gå-på-mod. Begge kvinder kæmper for frihed til kvinder i arbejds- og kærlighedslivet, og er ikke bange for at ansætte masser af kvinder i hotellets stab. Selv i roller, der ellers hidtil har været tiltænkt mænd. Bag hotel kulisserne dukker forskellige dramatiske historier op blandt de ansatte - selv fru Skogh og Ottilia, har også deres portion med sig, men sammenholdet blandt kvinderne er unikt og gør, at de kan løfte i flok. Det her er en charmerende, underholdende, stærk, inspirerende og velskrevet roman, der virkelig sætter kvinder i fokus. Kvinderne er -selvfølgelig i forskellig grad-ustyret med ben i næsen og jeg føler stadig, at Ottilia og Fru Skogh er kvinder, som jeg ville være venner med, hvis de fandtes. Jeg elskede stemningen og plottet. Jeg kan virkelig anbefale den til alle, der kan klare en gruppe stærke kvinder og historier fra et Grand hotel. I’ll admit…I’m a little harsh when it comes to rating the books I read. Here’s why: Have you ever read a book that shook you, that made you want to immediately start the story over even though you just read the last page? Those stories are the pinnacle of reading for me, so they’re my ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. That’s why so much of what I read is rated ⭐️⭐️⭐️ in my library. It’s not that the book was bad by any means: it’s just that in order to leave me completely and totally slumped in reading because nothing else compares to it, I need a lot more! My ⭐️ and ⭐️⭐️ star reviews/thoughts are pretty honest, so I don’t post those. I don’t want to discredit the work of an author because I understand the time and passion it took to put their story to paper. I’d rather leave those thoughts off this page. Simply put: I want to inspire people TOWARD reading, not away from it. Most bookstagram followers are looking for their next read, so why waste space telling them what they might avoid? And what if they would have loved that ⭐️ or ⭐️⭐️? With my review, I might have discouraged them from picking that up, causing them to potentially miss out on the book that could have shaped their reading journey. 𝐑𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 - Pretty Scandalous ✨ • Welches Buch hat euch zuletzt positiv überrascht? Bei mir war es definitiv Pretty Scandalous! 🫶🏼 Es war mein erstes Buch von der Autorin und hat mich direkt überzeugt! Die Gossip-Girl Vibes, Intrigen, Geheimnisse und das Drama haben mich SO gut unterhalten und hatten eine richtige Sogwirkung auf mich! Ich wollte das Buch einfach nicht aus der Hand legen und das ganze Geschehen immer weiter verfolgen. Es gibt super viele Geheimnisse und Fragen, die für sehr viel Spannung sorgen und man hofft die ganze Zeit, dass man endlich Antworten bekommt. Und das war tatsächlich das einzige, was mich ein wenig gestört hat - dass fast garkeine Fragen in diesem Buch beantwortet worden sind! 😩 Aber dafür bin ich umso gespannter auf den zweiten Teil dieser Reihe und hoffe sehr, dass endlich ein paar Geheimnisse aufgedeckt werden! Dennoch fand ich das Buch richtig gut und unterhaltsam und habe es sehr schnell durchgelesen. Zum Glück müssen wir nicht lange auf den zweiten Teil warten, denn ich kann es kaum abwarten, wieder in dieser Welt abzutauchen! 🥹 4,5 / 5 ⭐️! • Kennt ihr dieses Buch auch schon? 🦋THE REDEMPTION OF MORGAN BRIGHT🦋 Today is my stop on the blog tour! Thank you @angryrobotbooks for the proof and for having me! ~ r e v i e w ~ The Redemption of Morgan Bright is a weird and rather creepy story - I loved it! And I’ve definitely never read anything like it before! Every time I thought something was disturbing, I’d turn the page and read something even more so! I loved how it incorporated “treatments” for patients from old asylums and gave drawings of devices used too. It really made it realistic and helped with the detail. And as well as the usual prose, we have text conversations and police interview excepts which keep the pace fast and effortlessly brings in other perspectives. The story focuses on the psychologically unstable brain but also emphasises the institution’s part in making these patients worse, not better. In this story though, there is a specific reason for this brainwashing - and it is truly insane! Very cleverly thought out though and although I’d say it’s not particularly believable, it’s a fascinating concept. All I’ll say is, if you liked butterflies before you read this book… you might think differently about them afterwards! If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers, books set in mental asylums, as well as revenge stories, this one’s for you! Min Orwell obsession er altså ikke gemt væk- den ligger stadig under de mange bunker af andre forfatter, som jeg er nysgerrig på…. Meeeeeen hvis du smider noget med eller om Orwell min vej, så bliver det altså prioriteret. Med “Orwells roser” af Rebecca Solnit, som er udgivet på dansk af @vinterforlag , vidste jeg ikke hundrede procent hvad jeg gik ind til, andet end at jeg nu skulle læse en bog om Orwell og hans lidenskab for roser - eller det troede jeg da.. “Bogen bringer os vidt omkring, fra Orwells reportager fra kulminerne i England og Den Spanske Borgerkrig over Stalins besættelse af at gro citroner til nutidens sydamerikanske rosenfarme og cellofanindpakkede roser. …” Det her er ikke en ren havebog - det kan jeg med det samme lige sige- men det er en bog om en lidenskab for natur, en opmærksomhed på politik og modstand mod en mørkere del af samfundet. Solnit blander nogle biografiske udsnit om George Orwell med naturens ro, der viser en side af Orwell, som jeg og måske mange andre ikke havde regnet med, at han faktisk havde. Orwells udgivelser emmer af politik og en mere dyster holdning til samfundets udvikling, men Solnit får med hans lidenskab for roser vist, at han faktisk havde en mere håbefuld side. En side som jeg har læst, måske har været med til, at han faktisk kunne skrive de relevante og kritiske fortællinger, som han har gjort - hvilket der er en god pointe i. (Pssst… der er ikke udeladt noget “1984” i dette værk). Jeg kunne blive ved, for jeg var betaget af alt i bogen.
