Moms Today on Mother’s Day, we celebrate mothers in many different ways. Not everyone had a storybook childhood with an attentive mother, who loved them unconditionally. I am fortunate that my mother was strong, loving, encouraging, and gave of herself for her family and friends. She encouraged her daughters to be strong, self sufficient and was always supportive. I am one of the lucky ones! Today I celebrate my mother because she taught me how to be a good mother by her example. I thank her for all her sacrifices and dedication to her family. My hope is that I was a fraction of her with my children and that she is looking down from heaven with pride. After a busy Saturday at the shop, Peckish Cafe owner Chris (first pic) and his partner chilled out at Willows Beach and enjoyed some (halibut) fish and chips from @oakbay.seafood. The food was excellent! 👏 What they liked about it was that the halibut pieces were meaty and not over-battered (good meat-batter ratio). The fries were great, the tartar sauce was delicious, and so was the red cabbage coleslaw. 😋 Anyone else enjoy their fish and chips? (BTW, they also enjoy Willows Galley Fish & Chips) 👍 He also stole a Peckish Salad Bowl from work 😁 ... and that may be a bit of red wine in the little mason jar. Oops. 🤭 All in all, it was a great way to spend an evening in beautiful Oak Bay (Victoria) as Summer approaches. 😎 Will they see the aurora borealis lights tonight, though? Probably not. Apparently, they'll be viewable around 10pm.
