Welcome Back to Tea Tuesdays! Once a week, I take a book Iโm currently reading and pair it with a tea. This week is The Skeleton Haunts a House by Leigh Perry @leighperryauthor . I wanted to continue reading some spooky season books, and Iโve recently gotten back into the Family Skeleton books, so this seemed a great choice! For this book, and ultimately the duo of Georgia and Sid, I made a white chocolate pumpkin spice latte. When it came to picking a tea for this book, I looked in on my inner child (and her sweet tooth). Not because the series is childish, but because it is ultimately fun and whimsical in a way that makes me wish I had grown up with a friend like Sid. Also, the books references to Halloween haunted houses, Scooby-Doo, and living with your parents again just made me think of being a kid again and tasty Halloween sweets. To me, Sid is very much like Pumpkin Spice: perfect for spooky season and comfortingโฆbut not everyoneโs cup of tea. I brewed a pumpkin spiced black tea and mixed in a little homemade vanilla syrup. I didnโt want too much because I was also going to add in a white chocolate syrup- the Georgia element. Georgia feels like an unconventional classic flavor to me. Sheโs responsible, a book lover, and doesnโt feel the need to seek out excitement with people like Madison and Sid in her life. However, Georgiaโs still the person who found Sid, a person who goes out solving mysteries, and a person who bends some rules here and there. Sheโs another flavor that isnโt for everyone (though I certainly loved white chocolate cookies and cream bars as a kid), but she complements other flavors very well. Together, they make the kind of fun, sweet duo that makes your teeth ache, but fills that childish food craving so well! I also had a pumpkin cheesecake blondie as a snack with this delicious drink. Sid is a bit annoyed this end as we hadn't told him about our new skeleton, bought for the Kenilworth Clinic. We were a bit scared to be honest! ๐ However, it appears he is very happy with the fact we have another skeleton, he says our little skeleton family is growing nicely with Sid, Eddie and now our new arrival. He is happy that now we have another skeleton, a younger model, he says! He won't have to go out of events and can stay happily in the clinic in semi retirement... Sid is back with a new clinic update. ๐ We are very pleased that Gina has had her BASES Certified Exercise Practitioner Certificate renewed. Gina has now been a BASES Certified Exercise Practitioner for 8 years ever since completing her MSc in Sport and Health Sciences. BASES are the main body for Sports Science in the UK, they are highly respected worldwide. In order to have this certificate, you have to have completed a minimum of a BSc Hons Degree in Sports Science as well as a REPs level 4 Diploma in an area of exercise and in addition you have to complete 36 revelant CPD points. At The Reinge Clinic, strength and conditoning isn't an add on, both Ian and Gina have completed Degrees and Masters degrees in this area and encompass all this knowledge into every treatment. ๐ง Sid is very impressed, he always likes the look of new certificates. Sid is again very excited as he has a new person coming to keep him company this week.๐ I am sure pictures will follow. ๐ As you know we are only in our Portishead Clinic 3 days a week now so we have been looking to find someone who wanted to take the room for the days we weren't there. Sid is hugely excited as Dave Anderson is starting this week. Dave is new to the industry having recently completed his level 3 in Sports Massage and currently working on his level 4 Sports Massage qualification. We know that Dave has great ambitions and we are really pleased to be partnering up with him for the first stage of what we are sure will be a fantastic career. Being Level 3 Dave isn't yet able to work on injury, but if you need a Sports Massage and can't fit in with us, he is a great alternative... and Sid is very pleased of the company. ๐ Dave runs Front Row Sports and Massage Therapy (https://www.facebook.com/FrontRowSMT/) and is completely seperate from The Reinge Clinic, though we will certainly be helping him get started in any way we can. Sid is here again having enjoyed his week off... he claimed that as our Son was still on his easter school holidays, he should be as well!๐ค Anyway Sid was very excited last weekend as he actually got to see us at the weekend, for the first time in a long time. Ian and Gina were in Portishead on Saturday having their second COVID jab. With many of our clients how having their second jabs we are becoming a safer place by the moment. He appologises for last week, he was researching holidays for this summer and forgot to do it!๐ฒ Anyway, Sid is excited to announce that the clinics are being expanded in Kenilworth as the lockdown eases... Ian will now have a clinic from 9am - 3pm in Leamington on a Thursday and from 20th April, Gina will be running a Tuesday morning clinic in Kenilworth. This means we will be able to treat people 4 days a week in the local Kenilworth area. We are still in Portishead 3 days a week and actively looking for another therapist to join us there. Sid is pleased about this as he gets lonely on the days we aren't there... poor Sid. ๐ Sid also says that he is no closer to planning his holiday this year, he did want to go abroad but isn't sure if he is allowed. Sid is back!! Sid appologises on behalf of Gina and Ian for their appauling lack of posts! One tip from Sid, never move house in a pandemic.... it makes you stressed and grumpy and then you are mean to your skeleton! (๐ฒSid we are not mean to you!) Anyway, things are slowly settling into a routine in both the clinics. Ian has 2 very long days in Portishead working from 8am until 10pm!! But don't worry we have given him Friday off.... though at the moment that mostly invoves DIY!! Gina does a similarly long day on Thursday but we don't let her have Friday off as she has a clinic in Kenilworth that day...๐ We are looking to expand our clinic days in Kenilworth over the next few months and are actively looking for a therapist to come and help in Portishead. Sucess, we have found Sid's hand!!! You may recall we mentioned we may have mislaid it๐คซ but we have now found it!! So we can reunite Sid with it. As many of you know we are moving to Kenilworth and as a result we had to pack our house up....and amazingly the hand turned up! Phew๐ฌ As from next week our clinic hours are changing a bit. Ian will be in Portishead on a Monday and Tuesday while Gina will be there on a Thursday. The rest of the week we will be working in Kenilworth which is very exciting. This does leave us with a few spare days in Portishead, so we are hoping to find a brilliant therapist to join us there as soon as the restrictions lift a bit. So if you know of anyone who may be interested in a treatment room in Portishead for a couple of days a week, get them to contact us and we will have a chat with them. Welcome to Sid's clinic update. He has very much enjoyed watching the small amount of snow we had in Portishead. He took himself outside and trew a few snowballs at us, which was good fun for everyone. Sid doesn't have any clothes! ๐ฏ so he did feel a little chilly after a while. But we are pleased to say he warmed up with a hot chocolate. Sadly we didn't have enough snow to go sledging, but I think Sid is rather keen to have a go at this if anymore snow does arrive. Sid's update. Sid has had a busy week keeping abreast of all the vaccination news... he was wondering whether he would be eligible for the vaccine.... we have tried to inform him that it isn't for skeletons, but he inisits that he is elderly and should therefore get one.๐. (We may have to stop him listening to the news.๐ค) As cases are rising, he has also taken to showering in the hand sanitising spray again!๐ฒ It really doesn't matter how many times we reassure him he can't get it, he insists he mustn't take any chances. In fairness Ian and Gina are antibacking everything they come into contact with, so Sid must get resterilised at least 6 times a day ontop of his shower! Sid is back with his clinic updates... He says he had a lovely christmas, and thankyou to those who asked after his wellbeing. ๐ He spent the Christmas break with us as the clinic was a little chilly, and lonely! Infact, except for a few emergency appointments we all had a propper break over the Christmas period, something that Sid particularly enjoyed. He sat on the sofa with his feet up and a Baileys in his hand, eating chocolates... well at least he doen't need to worry about gaining a few pounds! He has also been keeping abreast of all the lockdown changes to make sure Ian and Gina follow the rules .... Sid says he isn't confused at all and is totally on top of it! (I'm glad someone is Sid)! Perhaps we should make Sid our Covid officer. ๐คAre skeletons allowed to do the job? In the meantime we are in the process of "rescuing" Eddie from Kenilworth to bring him back home, a massive thanks to Sarah Curshaw from #kenilworthchamberoftrade for clearing away our tree and giving Eddie a safe home for the night.
