Saturday: ‘Man, you guys are like a cult with your maniacal moonlit vigils’. Not sure we would go that far, but this observer is onto something... for those of us who came of age in the 80s, The Cult is even better than caffeine to get you going before sunrise. Electric Ocean was calling, and so we decided to Go West and had some Bad Fun! Core quiver this fine day was three-of-a-kind, a trio of 9’6s. Aside from length, three radically different designs, Jim Phillips CopyCat, Arenal Double Rainbow and Wavegliders Pintail Pig. Zé da Banana (aka Banana Joe) is where you go for Portuguese style hot dogs and BLTs by the meter. That’s 3.281 feet, which was just about enough for the appetites of the five Crewmembers on this particular surf safari. An abundance of A-Frames at an empty peak only heightened appetites all ‘round. And not just for the sandwich.
