Este nuevo Boeing 787-9 es parte del plan de fortalecimiento de la flota de Air Europa, que aspira recibir cuatro equipos del mismo tipo durante el año 2024, y ser capaz de expandir la oferta de rutas y frecuencias. Son 25 los B787 en operación con la empresa, convirtiéndose en la columna vertebral de sus vuelos de larga distancia. La aerolínea también opera 19 aviones B737NG. Por otro lado, el nuevo hangar tiene 140 metros de longitud y 23 metros de altura, en un área de más de 22 mil metros cuadrados, la mitad de estos destinados a labores de mantenimiento de las aeronaves. Se espera generar más de 180 puestos de trabajo como mano de obra directa. Como dato de interés, Aena informó que el Aeropuerto Madrid-Barajas manejó más de 60 millones de pasajeros en 2023, de los cuales 10 millones corresponden a viajeros de Air Europa, lo que indica excelentes resultados para el hub de la empresa. AerCap confirmed the payment in a December 22, 2023, filing with the US Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). LATAM already has 111 A320-family aircraft on the way. The new A321neo seats up to 224 passengers and features Airbus' spacious Airspace XL bins, providing 40% more storage space and accommodating 60% more carry-on bags. Additionally, 49% of the fuel used for its delivery flight was Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). GE to sell stake in aircraft leasing provider AerCap AerCap Holdings NV (AER.N) said on Monday a unit of General Electric Co (GE.N) will sell 32.4 million shares in the aircraft leasing giant through an underwritten public offering. The transaction will be worth $2 billion based on AerCap's closing price, according to LSEG data, and follows a sale by GE of 18 million shares in March. AerCap's stock fell about 3% in extended trading on Monday. GE said in March 2021 it will "over time" sell its stake - 33.6% as per latest LSEG data - after AerCap bought the conglomerate's aircraft leasing unit in a $30 billion deal. Lessor AerCap recovers $645M for 17 aircraft and five engines stranded in Russia Aircraft leasing company AerCap said it received a cash settlement of $645 million for 17 aircraft and five engines leased to Aeroflot, including its subsidiary Rossiya Airlines. In a United States (US) Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing on September 5, 2023, AerCap said it “received cash insurance settlement proceeds in the total amount of approximately US$645 million in full settlement of our insurance claims under the Aeroflot group’s insurance policies in respect of the 17 aircraft and five spare engines” that were leased to the Russian airline. Once it receives the funds from the “Insurance Company NSK”, a Russia-based insurance company, AerCap will release its claims against the insurer, Aeroflot, Rossiya Airlines, and other reinsurers related to the aircraft and engines.
