Dos libros extraños escritos por un escritor extraño, pero no me malentiendan, en este caso "extraño" no es un calificativo negativo. Ambos libros poseen la figura de Tartarin como personaje principal, un hombre inusual, misterioso, lleno de historias y anécdotas que, por lo general, casi le cuestan la vida...y terminan de manera inverosímil. Daudet crea dos relatos curiosos desde lo filosófico, ya que, en realidad, estas obras son narraciones con un trasfondo fuertemente filosófico: los logros de Tartarin no pueden depender sólo de lo que dice haber sido y de todo lo que dice haber encontrado en sus aventuras. Como resultado, se ve casi obligado a enfrentar una última travesía que pone a prueba su persona construida y la vox populi de la misma, alimentada por la necesidad de seguir siendo algo. Al final, Tartarin termina siendo un viejito medio loco que aprende que está más cerca de los mortales de lo que cree y lo peligroso de las expectativas y exigencias personales. One of my favourite activities on Alphonse Island was the Flats Lunch. . Alphonse is a coral atoll surrounded by reefs and sand flats. At low tide, an area of sand flats gets exposed, creating a pristine area of fresh beach. . The stellar team at Blue Safari Seychelles rushed out to set up parasols, seating, a barbecue and a bar. We then travelled out by boat to enjoy an amazing beach barbecue and picnic in the sunshine, surrounded by glorious warm ocean, before the tide came back and the beach got covered up again. . The view from the drone was spectacular too... if you want to see those I'll post them tomorrow, so stay tuned! . If you saw my post yesterday with photos of the main pool and bar area on Alphonse Island - here's what it looks like if you bother to get up for sunrise. (The person in the photo is me, tripod/self-timer portrait style). . The joy being only 7 degrees off the equator is that sunrise isn't too stupidly early. I only had to set my alarm for 5.30 am for this (actual sunrise was at 6.30). . Totally worth it, even if I did need an afternoon nap later. . Here you'll find the Bijoutier restaurant serving amazing meals, the swimming pool with wide, comfy sun loungers and day beds, the beach bar, lecture theatre, gym, Azure spa and games area. . For a tiny island there's loads to do - I was worried I might be bored but I wasn't for a second. I never even used the gym - which as some of you know is rare for me! .
