I've only been home for just 36 odd hours but I miss the Maldives already. I have thousands of images to edit and with each one brings a yearning to go straight back. A new development is that a second Alert Level 1 area of very warm water has formed, stretching W/WSW from the southern tip of India into the most northern parts of Maldives. Seychelles: Alert Level 1 (Inner Seychelles) to Alert Level 3 & 4 in the deep south and southwest of Outer Seychelles. Aldabra on Watch Level. East Africa: Whole coast from Kenya down to Mozambique back to Watch Level. Water temperature going back to normal, but that doesn't mean that the suffering of bleached coral is over now. It will take a while to get an overview of how many will be able to recover from the long-lasting heat stress and how many will die.
