I’ve posted his brew before, but remember having a different (improved) experience from this batch so I felt the need the post. Love the thick milky haze on the pour with beautiful color. First off, look at the color of this brew, a beautiful pale straw yellow color. Taste profile feels heavy citra for me due to the heavy citrus and earthy profile I’m getting, but with a solid grassy finish most likely from the NZ hops. Great hop saturation here. 🚨 Troon Tuesday alert! 🚨 Today we have “See You In My Dreams”, a recent hoppy ale from @troonbrewing . Pretty typical high abv triple excellence from Troon - medium thickness in body poured a super fluffy head. Nose primarily dank citrus and grapefruit, resulting in the same flavor profile on the first sips and through the rest. I remember this having a bit more of a dry finish on tap release day, but not in a bad way, rather more of a fruit forward finish. Minimal to no booze. An excellent representation of their signature work. A delight. Easter Sunday brew! 🐣 🍺 Today we have “Am I Citra Too?”, a recent hazy double IPA from @thedruery , out of Lawrenceville, NJ. Quite impressed by my first offering from this brewery. Definitely getting those citrusy meets earthy vibes that I get from a lot of the heavy hitter breweries putting out in an all citra hopped brew. Hop saturation is there, just a touch more green bitterness lingering on the back end. But still overall a very nice brew. Happy Easter to everyone! St. Patrick’s Day brew! Today we have “Infernal Cauldron”, a recent doppelbock conditioned on palo santo and Papuan vanilla beans from @troonbrewing . We all know Troon is well known for top-notch hops, but the change of pace can be nice too, especially when they craft a high-quality, unique brew like this. Not quite Guinness 😆, but definitely needed to go with a dark brew for the day, so this was choice numero uno. To be honest, I’m not too familiar with the style, but this is drinking incredibly well on this beautiful day. Crazy drinkability at the 10% abv and mega smooth. Definitely getting a woody flavor complimented by a perfect amount of vanilla. Delicious. Hope everyone gets to enjoy their St. Paddy’s Day and Sunday to wrap up the weekend. Sunday scaries brew! Today we have “Sitra Achra”, the 2024 batch of double IPA from @brujos_brewing . This was the first Brujos brew I was able to try back in 2023 and that was an excellent brew. This one probably takes it to the next level of hop saturated Citra goodness. Hop punch still present about 3 weeks post canning but not coming off as too green on my pallet. Full body yielding a creamy brew and finish. This is straight hop juice and one of the best Brujos offerings I’ve had to date. Great Sunday brew. Fidens Friday! Today we have “Olive and Scarlet”, a recent double IPA from @fidensbrewing . Initial citrus hop hit settling into some dank floral and berry notes. A bit on the hop saturated side but without much green hop burn. Smooth and solid body at the abv for a nice creamy finish. Really solid stuff coming out from this series. Some rainy Saturday suds! Today we have “Leap Beer”, a fresh QUADRUPLE IPA from @oakflowerbrewingcompany . I’m pretty sure this is is Oakflower’s first venture into 12% abv quad land, but this is an extremely impressive effort by them. This brew rivals some of the best quad IPAs I’ve been able to get my hands on. If it makes any sense, while you can tell it’s a strong boy, it does not come off as boozy. Rather the flavor profile is essentially a citrus bomb with hints of nelson grass. Nice color, body, and creaminess here too. Excellent brew out of Millington / Long Hill (whatever you wanna call it). It’s another Fidens Friday! Today we have “DDH Jasper”, a recent double dry hopped batch of the double IPA staple ‘Jasper’ from @fidensbrewing . This is definitiely an amped up version of the brew. Citra overload yielding citrusy dominant profile with some earthiness that I’ve come to find from many recent all citra hops. For being canned a little over a month from today, I am a bit surprised at how hoppy this is, to the point where I might actually say that it’s still a tad green.
