Drive, Chip & Putt (@drivechipandputt) is an amazing free nationwide junior golf skills competition that we have the honor of hosting at Riverview Golf Course (@riverviewgolfnm) on May 31st!!! Participants complete in all three skills (drive, chip & putt) and hit 3 shots per skill. Points are accumulated per shot at each skill and the winner is determined by the participant with the most points. Boys and Girls ages 7-15 Registration is FREE and no golf experience is required. In the past decade, funds raised from the Shootout have gone on to provide scholarship opportunities for 13 college grads and 6 current students! First Tee-GWDC participants and staff celebrated National Golf Day with a working trip to Capitol Hill. We met First Tee Executive Leaders on the steps of the Capitol and then headed over to House Office Buildings to meet with Golf Caucus represenative staff members of Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) and Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC). Staff members of Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) hosted the group for a discussion about the positive impact of golf and then it was off to the Capitol for a guided tour.
