Having faith & focus really served me in my early days in business. What did my foray in business look like? I enrolled 8+ clients in under 60 days in an industry where I literally had 'no experience'. My 1st business was a boutique publishing company. I created a printed guide for a specific, well-identified industry/niche. I took inspired, faith-based action. I invested time and money BEFORE I even approached my my first prospective client. The decision was made. So I took the action to make it the right one. I was sold on ME. I was sold on my ability to help my market. I was sold on the medium by which I would help them to get results. I leaned on a mentor when doubt sank in and was given the tools to develop a winner's mindset. The rest is history. I work on that same premise for every new program, new direction, new launch. It has served me well. It's a mindset. It's confidence. It's teachable, doable by anyone. The moral of this story that can help you. You can achieve your biz goals with faith and focus. Welcome to the FIRST MONDAY in 2020! It's game time (work time really, lol). A few reminders to bring those goals and intentions for this Month into being. Be intentional and purposeful with your time. Calendar all your meetings and CEO-related tasks. Block out times on your calendar to get those things done. Minimize or eliminate scroll time on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest; basically all social media. It is a big time suck. Make your social media time (if necessary for your business) purpose-driven. Log on to the required platform for a specific reason that is in line with your company goals. Review that Monthly goal or target that you set for your business. This is something that you and all members that support your company (your team) should be focused on daily. All company projects should line up and be focused on the achievement of that objective. It should be on a whiteboard, meeting agenda so that it's at the forefront of everything you do. Track your Key Performance Indicators. There are some key things that will move proportionately with the goal that you are trying to achieve. First know what those are. For example, email list growth and engagement is proportionately related to launch conversions. So this is something that should be focused on and tracked. Treat your community like people, because they are. :-) I know that I just mentioned your goals and metrics in the last 2 points. However, at the heart of the work you do is service. You offer a paid service (coaching, consulting or otherwise) to people. Don't get too caught up in the numbers that you forget to treat your community like people. That means responding to queries quickly and as thoroughly as the situation requires. That means delivering your service with excellence. That means exercising patience if someone seems a little undecided about your offer or unclear. You can be professional, personable, supportive, community-focuses, client-centric all at the same time. It's a win/win/win all around. You've got this. Are you 'All-in' to the intentions you set for 2020? If you have been consuming the content of popular marketers online you may have heard the term "All in!" After some thought and reflection, I realize that it's a term that has embodied many actions that I have taken in my adult life; as an entrepreneur and coach. And each time that I have gone 'All in', I have reaped handsome rewards. Here are just a few of those times: 1 - In my 1st business, I invested in design work for a mock-up to show potential clients in an industry that was totally new to me AND I was virtually an unknown. I invested in other marketing materials as part of my show and tell (if you will). I invested in incorporating that business. I invested a enormous amount of time in research, prospecting, proposal-writing, delivery, phone calls and meetings before I booked my first client. I went on to book 8+ more and continued to rinse and repeat each time a client cycle ended. Did it pay off to be 'all in'? Absolutely! 2 - I invested in a direct marketing business. I went all in and invested in that business, same day, practically on the spot. I went on to enroll 8 people in that business in under 30 days and more than doubled my investment. Did it pay off to be 'all in'? Absolutely! 3 - I invested in a high-end mastermind-like program. I went all in and attended the 1st retreat (paid for plane fare and hotel stay) in the 1st week of joining. Within a Month I had a new client that had also invested in the program. I went on to enroll more clients, make valuable connections, be featured on multiple summits and authority websites, connect with other coaches all from being "all-in" and committed to that experience. Did it pay off to be 'all in'? Absolutely! On a personal level, I went 'all in' when I invested in Grad school. I graduated with honours from that program. That single experience has opened up MANY doors of opportunities, many of which I most likely haven't realized. It was an experience I treasure dearly (no pun intended :-) ). A TRUE STORY... ∴ Boldness was always a trait I possessed, but somewhere along the way, I lost it and became trapped by fear. ∴ I acted with boldness when I decided to leave the comfort of my home with my parents in Jamaica; and moved to New York at 21 years old ∴ I acted with boldness when I moved out of my Uncle's home where I was loved and cared for as if it was my family home in Jamaica; and went to live on my own. ∴ I acted with boldness when I decided that I could be a Single Mother (wha!) and rock it! [OK, most of the time, I have no clue what I'm doing, lol] ∴ I acted with boldness when I left corporate to start my own business with only a couple of Months living expenses in saving. ∴ But somewhere along the way, I got stuck, scared and broke. I lost confidence in myself, my success to that point, my own strategies even (which was working well for my clients). ∴ So I am reclaiming my boldness, genius and power. 💪🏽💯📣 And I know that magic 💫 will follow me throughout the year and beyond. 🙌🏽 ∴ Goodbye to being crippled by fear. After 84 days of living in our tent, we were finally able to move our bed into the house 🙌🏼 • We survived freezing temperatures, torrential downpours, high speed winds, & the hot Florida sun! • When we first arrived we knew we would be in for an experience unlike any other. It was 25° that first night. The days melted into weeks & many of them were the hardest of our lives. But, we kept moving forward & now we couldn’t be happier 🙏🏻 • Did we mention we were living in a tent?! 😂 If anyone out there has beaten our record of tent living, we would love to hear your story!
And just like that... WE HAVE A ROOF! 🙌🏼 A roof is a magical thing - it’s a hangout spot, a vantage point for a city skyline, a division between a cozy home and the harsh elements. A roof helps protect all of your most cherished possessions in life. Having a roof over our heads is all we need in this wild, precious life of ours! It traps heat, reflects harsh radiation, blocks torrential weather, and makes us feel safe 🙏🏻 We used metal roofing this time around & it sure does sparkle! After what we have been through, the feeling we get when we see this sight is indescribable. ❤️
