Kegiatan yang berlokasi di Kantor Walikota Depok dihadiri oleh 14 pelatih dan 11 atlet. Selain UPS Foundation, kegiatan ini juga mendapat dukungan penuh dari Dinsos Kota Depok, Disporaryata Kota Depok, Disdik Kota Depok, dan Diskominfo Kota Depok. Young Athletes merupakan program olahraga dan permainan untuk anak-anak dengan dan tanpa disabilitas intelektual usia 2-7 tahun dengan memperkenalkan keterampilan dasar olahraga seperti berlari, melempar, dan menendang. Pelatihan Pelatih Young Athletes ini merupakan rangkaian dari Program Young Athletes SOIna guna mengembangkan program tersebut di 6 titik lokasi yaitu Jakarta Selatan, Jakarta Utara, Jakarta Timur, Bandung, Depok, dan Bekasi. —— Train the Trainer Young Athletes supported by UPS Foundation was held on Saturday (24/7) in Depok City. The event, located at Depok Mayor’s Office was attended by 14 coaches and 11 athletes. In addition to the UPS Foundation, this event also had the full support of Education Department of Depok City, Social Service of Depok City, Youth, Sport, Culture and Tourism Department of Depok City, and Communication and Information Department of Depok City. Young Athletes is a sport and play program for children with and withoud intellectual disabilities ages 2 to 7 years old. Yesterday, I attended the 2024 Special Needs Awareness and Resource Fair. As both a parent and advocate, I was grateful to see so many people participating and connecting with local resources to help improve the lives of their children and family members. It was the day after #specialolympics and my last class of the day, so we decided to keep the fun rolling. Art is not always about the end result, sometimes it’s about the process. Process art is a form of artistic expression where the emphasis is placed on the process of creation rather than the final product. It often involves experimentation, exploration, and the use of unconventional materials and methods. By valuing the process over the result, it promotes mindfulness, spontaneity, and the acceptance of imperfection. I have found that process art allows my students to better express themselves, as well as find which mediums they most connect with. Do we make a mess? Sure. Do we have fun? Gabe had his very first track meet today with @specialolympicsoh ! He did both track and field events. He got 1st in the Assisted 50M and 2nd in softball throw. There were a lot of people there and I’m so proud of how well he handled everything overall. We had some small meltdowns, and he was definitely tired, but it was a great experience for him. It was also amazing to see how he listened to what he was taught in practice and applied it to his events today. His love of travel and passion for building and coding his team’s robots spur him on, and his enthusiasm inspires everyone around him. When Camren’s not battling it out in the ring, he can be found in his backyard, digging for lost treasure hidden by his grandfather for him to discover!
