I have waited literal years to take this photo—another pin set finally complete! Time to talk about “Doom” (at last!) The shape of the original “Merely Mortal” pin has always been one of my favorites, there’s something about that long torso pose I think just works so nicely in enamel. Creating a matching composition was such a delight, especially with the opportunity to create a shape and energy that was more visually Yang to the original pin’s Yin. This is an instance where I got to bust all my hallmarks as a pin designer (green hue, green magic as a compositional element, heightened facial expressions, use of cutouts and enamel plating as design elements), making it a perfect emblem of everything I like doing on this page. And I'm happy to announce that they're finally finished!❤☺️ I'm so happy with how they turned out! The Black Cauldron is such an underrated movie and I absolutely love it. Sure it terrified me as a kid but as someone who grew up watching horror movies as a kid I had no problem with it. . . . Eilonwy started off as a Wendy doll, she was fully re-rooted. Her clothes were hand sewn ,kept her original shoes just painted black. And added rhinestones to them. . . . Taran was a prince charming doll from decendents. His hair was re-molded with epoxy sculpt. Clothes and shoes were hand sewn as well. . . . And can't forget about Henwen. I bought her with a lot of little piggies from Amazon.
