Your Engagement Session location is important 🙂 Here are some of the things I consider when picking the location: a place that has some special meaning for YOU 👩🏾🤝👨🏻 🌥️ softer light, or at least side-ways light (not mid-day overhead sun) enough open space to 💃🏼 move around 🏝️ less crowded areas b/c who wants somebody else's random arm, leg, or other body part seemingly coming off of your body? And you know what's NOT on my list? Some major point of interest like a statue, or water fountain, or whatever. The point is to photograph YOU not the stuff This is was in my beloved Central Park. We managed to stay away from the maddening crowds and get some really beautiful pictures of Jesse and Robert. Why Do Engagement Photos?? Of course you don't have to do Engagement Photos, but consider this: You can get more comfortable in front of the camera. I've only had a handful of couples who are professional models or actors. Most of us, however, need a little warming up and easing into the process. You can show off your personalities in a more relaxed setting. You play the guitar? Cool bring it! Do you both have t-shirts from some concert you went to back in the day? I'd love to see your concert t-shirts 🤩 How often will you have a chance to get professional portraits of just the two of you hanging out? I can promise you, not often enough. And maybe never again.
