La prima cosa che dico è che ci siamo divertiti, quello sempre, perché se non ci si diverte che gara è? Poi per essere stata la nostra seconda gara in questa disciplina e soprattutto in mezzo a piloti da campionato italiano direi che c'è la siamo cavata abbastanza bene! 💪 Nonostante non avessimo strumenti tecnologici in auto per tenere la media abbiamo fatto davvero del nostro meglio. Rispetto allo scorso anno abbiamo aggiunto una cosa in più, le 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐚 𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲! Esatto!!!! Ho insegnato a Mauro le note!!! Non c'è età per imparare qualcosa bisogna solo avere passione e determinazione, Bravo Mauro! 💪 Le note ci hanno aiutato tanto soprattutto per sapere i punti dove poter recuperare la media, ad esempio dopo i tornanti sapevamo che c'era una S4 o S5/D5 e 100 dove poteva accelerare e andare a media. Non è stata una gara facile lo ammetto, perché abbiamo avuto problemi ad una gomma che si è forata in trasferimento notturno, ma nonostante tutto 𝐍𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐁𝐁𝐈𝐀𝐌𝐎 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐎! Detto ciò, vorrei ringraziare Mauro per questa bellissima avventura insieme e vorrei fargli i complimenti perché è stato bravissimo in tutto, sulle note, sul pezzo in sterrato, sull'affrontare il problema del cambio gomma e soprattutto sulla guida della Fiat X1/9 perché non ha avuto molto tempo per prenderci mano visto che l'aveva da 1 mese 😅 Quindi Bravo zio Mauro! PS: brava anche io che sui trasferimenti ho fatto miracoli e su alcuni CO siamo arrivati quasi allo scadere del nostro minuto. FOTOTRUFFA ‘62 / Naturalmente, il titolo è ironico, a scanso di querele. Correva l’anno 1984 e i ritocchi si facevano a suon di retini, pennelli ed occhiali, per perderci la vista e ottenere risultati molto romantici. Non esisteva Photoshop: i computer erano agli albori, parlavano in DOS e il risultato non era lo stesso. La modella era la stessa. Il molo in Liguria era lo stesso. La giornata era la stessa. Fin qui, tutto scontato, meno che la X1/9. I nostri complimenti all’agenzia pubblicitaria, Azienda torinese molto famosa, all’epoca: Sanguineti. Gli illustratori furono capaci di trasformare, in post produzione, una bicolore argento e grigia in una monocolore blu polar ice. Oltre a notarlo per lo stacco del colore , evidente anche se della stessa tinta, ingrandendo la foto della Sunshine noterete che nel lunotto posteriore ci sia ancora il sedile di guida rosso, e non artificiosamente colorato di nero, come la foto lascia pensare. Quindi, non solo non era una Sunshine, al di là del deflettore cromato, ma non era neanche una base azzurra. Today I took a call from a man from Sutton Coldfield, he'd learned that we had this Fiat X1/9 in this week's Classic auction and wanted to tell me that it belonged to his late brother from 1985 to 1997. His brother was Dan Weaver, X1/9 owners Club Treasurer in the late 80's. In 1989 Dan took the car to Turin and had it photographed next to the original X1/9 prototype. In a weird twist of coincidence, today 15th April would've been Dan's 62nd birthday, sadly passing in 2020. Honoring his life as he passed away this year, here is one of his lesser known works: Fiat X1/9. Let’s set negative sayings attributed to the brand by some people such as ‘Fix It Again, Tony’ and focus on the good things about this pocket Ferrari. Produced from 1972-82 by Fiat and by Gruppo Bertone from 1982-89, the X-One-Nine stood out because it had a great handling due to the placement of the engine, offered two trunks (one of which could store the removable targa roof), an advanced suspension despite using many passenger car parts and its engine was designed by an ex Ferrari employee. It was also the first Fiat built specifically for the US market at a time when cars from foreign brands were simply modified such as the British MGs and their huge rubber bumpers. During its design phase, it took styling cues from speedboats at the time.
