Not only did I get lucky enough to travel around the Maldives with three of my very favorite travel pals (who I met in 2019 on a tour through Spain, Portugal, and Morocco and I haven’t seen them since then because they live in Australia!!!) but I also got to photograph two of them GETTING ENGAGED!!!! This was an absolute highlight of the trip for me 😁 When we first got in the water there was so many flustered people all chasing after this one manta ray. I felt so awful for the poor soul that I was reluctant to get in the water again. It started raining and most of the other boats cleared off so I got back in and had the most magical encounter. I realized the ray could have easily bolted off at any moment but it chose to stick around, looping back in forth where we were swimming, clearly just as curious about us as we were it.
