Los Eternos Es seguramente una de las películas más bastas de Marvel. Incorporan un montón de mitología nueva al lore, que pinta importante, más todos los personajes, las habilidades… pero realmente como no sabemos qué importancia pueden llegar a tener y que la escala de poder no parece afectada me quedo tranquilo. Fuera del universo creo firmemente que es de las películas de superhéroes más bonitas que hemos visto en mucho tiempo. Los poderes son de los más bonitos, escenarios espectaculares y movidas galácticas de quedarse con la boca abierta. A todo esto, los acompaña de las mejores direcciones que hemos tenido, matada muchas veces por el montaje o la propia correa del estudio, pero al final me voy agradecido. Y en esencia la peli es un estilo a Los Vengadores, aunque esta optimiza más lo que tiene al tener personajes más similares. (Armar la primera de los vengadores con lo diferentes que son todos me sigue pareciendo una locura) Otra cosa, el plantel de los eternas me han caído todos bastante bien, y no hay ninguno especialmente secundario. Marvel's The Eternals has been delayed until 2021 (instead of November), but while that's definitely a disappointment for fans, it's also an opportunity. The Eternals are definitely one of the more obscure sets of Marvel Comics characters that Marvel Studios has tried to adapt for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means fans can use the extra time until the movie's arrival to learn some interesting things. Case in point: today a new cast listing for Eternals seems to reveal yet another major point in the timeline of the MCU that the film will explore! Take a look at those Mild Spoilery details below! The casting site Mandy.com (h/t/ The Direct) claims an actor named Noaman Saeed is starring in Marvel's The Eternals, as a background actor who will be a 'guest to a Babylonian wedding.' That casting seems to be our first confirmation that Eternals will indeed be examining different eras of the ancient MCU timeline - including the era of Babylon, the kingdom of ancient Mesopotamia. Babylon existed between 18th and 6th century BC, in what would now be Iraq. In Marvel lore, there is a small amount of history dedicated to Babylon - but one particular piece of it is crucial to the backstory of The Eternals, and could be a major twist in the film's story! Angelina Jolie stars in Eternals as Thena, a legendary warrior, and daughter of the Eternals leader Zuras, who inspired the Greek myth of the goddess Athena (among many others). A key twist in the Eternals mythos is that in ancient Babylon Thena fell in love with a unique member of the Eternals' rival race the Deviants, creating a bond of love between the two sets of superpowered beings, for the first time ever. However, Thena and Kro would have a falling out, as the latter began to assume new identities and manipulate world events, making dark use of his long life and power of regeneration/invulnerability. Kro would eventually pop up as a surprise antagonist in the modern age, after spawning some superpowered children with Thena in the '40s.

KIT HARINGTON Confirmed as BLACK KNIGHT in ETERNALS!!! Kit Harington's Eternals role has been confirmed as Dane Whitman, better known in Marvel Comics as Black Knight. The announcement was made during Marvel Studios' Saturday presentation at Disney's D23 Expo. In comic books, Black Knight is a longtime Avenger who wields a cursed sword, and who is also the on-again-off-again paramour of Gemma Chan's Sersei. He inherited his sword and title from his uncle - a former Avengers villain. Black Knight has long been rumored to be a part of the MCU's next phase. Harington was announced as Dane Whitman - his codename wasn't used - but Marvel has often introduced superhero characters by their civilian identities first. Eternals is due out in theaters November 6, 2020.
Gemma Chan May Join Marvel’s Eternals!!! Earlier this year, Humans star Gemma Chan made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as the Kree warrior Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel. Now, it appears that Chan may be returning to the MCU as an entirely different character. Variety is reporting that Chan is in negotiations to join the cast of Eternals. However, the report goes on to add that “it’s unknown if she will be playing [Minn-Erva] in [Eternals]. Variety also notes that its sources say her role could be “completely different.” Why would Marvel bring Chan back in a new role? Presumably to capitalize on her rising fame. Chan’s appearance in Crazy Rich Asians greatly elevated her visibility, while Minn-Erva was a relatively minor character in Captain Marvel. If Chan does return, she would probably have a larger role than her previous stint in the MCU. It’s also worth noting that Sersi, the female lead of The Eternals comics, has yet to be cast. Perhaps that part could go to Chan, if it remains open.

The cast will include Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Salma Hayek as Ajax, Bryan Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari and Don Lee as Gilgamesh! Eternals is based upon Jack Kirby’s comic of the same name. That series introduced a group of immortals called the Eternals and their rivals, the Deviants. Within the comics, Thanos and the other inhabitants of Titan were also Eternals. It’s unclear if the MCU will maintain that connection. Chloe Zhao is directing Eternals from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. Eternals appears to be on track for a release date in Fall 2020.

The Eternals comic book series, created by Jack Kirby in 1976, follows a race of ancient human beings created by the alien Celestials with the intention of them being the defenders of Earth against their destructive counterparts, the Deviants. Welcome Back | it was one for new countries and old dreams - one for the history books, record books, novels and novellas, it was one for the very edges of the earth, humid rainbows and patient glaciers seen just days apart. 2017 was a year of broad painted strokes. Sixteen new countries carefully considered, camping on airplanes (for weeks at a time), and new friends met that you feel you’ve known all your life. Ends of eras, cross-country moves, stories told and telling, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I think about this idea often, this notion that if you’re Happy (with a capital H) with where you are right now, right in this moment - then everything that happened to you before, the good and the bad in equal measures, had to have happened exactly the way it did, for you to be here now. In honor of all the good news this week, here's a rare photo of me looking at the camera. Taken by the incredible @ElliotStudio, who, if you don't follow already, you should do yourself a favor right now. Some thoughts: making movies is a long road, and we get asked a lot of questions about how it all begins - for me, it just meant taking the time every year, to write one story start to finish. Every December, since graduating university, we'd take a few weeks off and write a feature film - full stop. We wrote a lot of bad ones. And then, eventually, we wrote one that we thought was pretty good. So much of the process is getting up and doing it - everyone has access to a laptop, and that's all there is, you and a computer and your thoughts. The easiest thing in the world is NOT writing, so the mission becomes making time, to make things up. And don't forget to enjoy it. More projects, announcements, exciting things coming soon. Deadline has announced that Gal Gadot is in talks to star in the Justin Kurzel-directed drama "Ruin"! Kurzel (Macbeth, Assassin's Creed) will be directing the project from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. Said to be a "gritty period revenge-thriller" that'll be in the vein of "Inglourious Basterds" and "Fury," is being described as follows: "A nameless ex-Nazi captain navigates the ruins of post-WWII Germany. Determined to atone for his crimes during the war, he hunts down the surviving members of his former SS Death Squad." The project is looking to start production in early 2018.
