Sneak Peek! We’ve been working hard to create this beautiful space… Montessori classrooms are designed entirely to meet the developmental needs of the children. Beauty and order define the room. Calm, neutral colors cover the walls and open shelving is made of natural wood or painted white. This provides a soothing environment where the children can concentrate and learn. It is the background on which the learning materials stand out. Everything is set up within reach of the student, and beautiful child-sized materials are arranged neatly on the shelves. A few pictures hang on the walls, placed at the children’s eye level to add interest to the room. They show real-life scenes, an important component for these young learners to discern what is true to life. Plants are added to offer beauty and opportunities to observe, care for and respect living things. Tables and chairs are child-sized and furniture is given ample space to give young children the room they need to use their whole bodies in every activity.
