This Patriot Day morning, the Panther Battalion Cadets and Cadre completed a stair climb in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice 22 years ago, climbing 110 flights of stairs at the World Trade Center on a mission to save lives. We pause and reflect on those brave firefighters, police officers, service men and women, and on the civilians from all walks of life that lost their lives and on the survivors and their families. A relieved group of MS4 Cadets, just before departing their final Spring Combined Field Training Exercise (CFTX) at Fort Benning, GA. These Cadets planned and led Leadership Labs and training events during Fall and Spring semesters to prepare the MS3 Cadets for Cadet Summer Training 2023. Over the past weekend, the Panther Battalion was responsible for facilitating Day and Night Land Navigation for over 200 Cadets from over 7 Army ROTC programs. This experienced-based learning also serves as integral preparation for the MS4s ahead of their commissioning as 2nd Lts. in various components of the United States Army upon completion of their academic degree programs. This past weekend, contracted Cadets from the Panther Battalion Army ROTC, which consists of Cadets from Georgia State University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and Clayton State University, along with Cadets from over 7 other Universities and their satellite programs completed the Spring Combined Field Training Exercise (CFTX) to prepare for Cadet Summer Training 2023 at Fort Knox, KY this coming summer. My motivation as a leader comes from my family and friends who look for me to set the example for our younger generation. Effective management of my ROTC and college commitments are done through proper time management. U.S. ARMY SPOTLIGHT: 2LT Grady Marsalis Parks. Army Pilot. May 25, 2021 Tuesday. 2LT Marsalis Parks recently graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and commissioned on May 14, 2021 as an Army Aviation Officer with a perfect 300 Army Physical Fitness Test score. 2LT Parks served as the Cadet Battalion Commander, who led at the Georgia Fall 2020 FTX that certified Land Navigation skills for MSIV Cadets and trained MSIII Cadets from Georgia Tech, University of Georgia and Georgia State University. 2LT Parks is a business owner, a Flight School Assistant and a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity doing important community service work in Atlanta, Georgia. 2LT Parks also led Cadet recruiting by hosting the Panther Talk community outreach show to educate about Army ROTC scholarships to pay for college.
