BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!! I am performing at Hume Events Sunbury 24’. 🤩🥳 Starting busking nearly 6 years ago during and after my Melbourne Polytechnic Bachelor of Music Degree, sparingly playing whilst creating my first album. I then completed my first solo album and was able to start my own solo gigs. Proceeding into the wormhole of Covid, I created my own busking venture, mask and safety precautions included, and played almost every single day during the pandemic, with the support of my local town of Sunbury. 😷🧑🎤 Having started the task of creating a second solo album during this time, I was able to fully make a living during a time that sort to take that away. With the generosity of the town of Sunbury, and the push and momentum of it’s people, post Covid I was fortunate enough to play many functions that furthered my goals. 🎵 Since then, I’ve released a second album, and continuously played gigs for my town and surrounding areas, all the while busking where it all began. 🎸 I am so excited to announce that I have been offered to play in Sunbury 24’. 50 years in the making, bringing back one of Australia’s biggest Festivals, with the likes of @richardclaptonofficial , @rosswilsonofficial , @joecamilleriofficial Matt Taylor & Phil Manning, Madder Lake and many other great artists. Skyhooks helped change the face of rock n roll in the 1970s with #1 and Top 10 singles to their credit, as well as two of the country’s biggest-selling albums, Living in the 70s and Ego is Not A Dirty Word. Both were produced by Ross Wilson and received incredible reviews. Skyhooks have been described as ‘giving the Australian music industry the enema it needed’ when they smashed onto the scene in their colourful costumes, wearing makeup well before other bands tried it. Living in the 70s was their debut album, Egois Not A Dirty Word released a year later and it wasn’t long before the five members of the band were celebrities–Shirley, the enigmatic curly-haired lead-singer, guitarist Red Symons, guitarist Bob Starkie, bassist and songwriter Greg Macainsh and drummer Fred Strauks. 🎶 They released killer singles such as Horror Movie, Ego (Is NotA Dirty Word), Women In Uniform, and Jukebox in Siberia, to name a few, and are one of the few bands who have been permanently on rotation on radio stations around the country for decades.
