Eurydice and the 🌼 Eurydice had her first real adventure with us this week! @mikey_cubs and I took our niece, nephew, Samson, Jaina, and Eurydice out to explore the acres of wild mustard flowers near our house. Eurydice took to her previous harness training very quickly and when we were out and about she was excited to explore. We were a little apprehensive that she would be scared and need to go back to the car, but she was so curious and would meow to be let down to inspect everything. She is naturally so inquisitive and brave and we can’t wait to continue these adventures! Please welcome the newest addition to our family, Jaina! 🎉 Gotcha day 11-22-22 Jaina was one of 6 dogs on a pts list at the shelter in Wasco. She was the only one with zero interest and barked at everyone who came to see her before being scheduled to be pts. She was very shy and reserved so we drove to Wasco and spent an hour hanging out with her. Eventually she hesitantly scooted up to @truebluek, licked her cheek, and it was all over. She has quickly acclimated to her new home as well as her brother Samson and her foster brother Remy -we’re still working on Van Gogh being comfortable around her. Jaina is one of the sweetest and cutest dogs we’ve ever met, we have no idea how she ended up on a pts list with her personality and her heart crushingly cute face, we think she may have just been waiting for us. 💛 She is a testament of what kind of love can be waiting for you at a shelter. Often I'm reminded how truly blessed I am to have Samson in my life. We've been a bit mia the past three days because I've been sick and either in bed or on the couch at my moms. We haven't been able to go on our evening walks or really play ball for as long as he's used to or go on any real adventures, but instead of being fidgety and anxious he has relaxed next to me this entire time. Every now-and-then he'll get up for some cuddles or to be let out, but then he'll just lay back down peacefully next to me. I know he's bored and since I'm feeling a bit better today I'm going to try to take him to the park and get some real exercise in, but honestly just so infinitely stoked on what a great boy he is. Throwback to mom and I paddle boarding at Horseshoe Lake! (A very blurry photo taken on a friend's old iPhone, we were a lot less nervous to drop an old phone into the middle of the lake lol. One thing I do differently with Samps now is bringing a life jacket. This was our first time out and he got too excited and bailed from the board as we were paddling into shore, it took all my strength to pull him up by his harness and balance on the board as well. He would've have been fine in this situation, but in larger bodies of water it would have been a major concern.
