Rivalry story just writes itself. After two teams with Giannis and Embiid got dispatched, we have the classic rivalry of Knicks vs Pacers again. Last time both met up, it was 2012-13 season led by Melo vs PG. Then further last time, it was 1999-00, 1998-99, 1997-98, 1994-95, 1993-94, 1992-93 in Reggie vs Ewing era. They met so many times in the 90s . I did a sixpack between Ewing and Reggie and in three hobby eras, late 90s, Exquisite, and Panini era. I then gave some detailed curation for each cards in slides 2-7. I touched on various aspects. Chase, availability, hobby history etc. All cards are in my PC. The passing day is 1/5, both are Ant’s jersey numbers. After a long day ended with a nice concert, I managed to finally close a deal to land Ant’s first BC packpull Prizm Debut Green Ice 1/2, jersey number. Fitting with the date. In the secondary market of singles, there are buyers who target mid end cards under a theme in large volume, but there are also laser focused buyers who focus on grail key cards. But just as in collecting from the secondary, there are buyers and breakers of packs and boxes of the above two flavors as well, volume rippers of mid end packs with low downside risks, but also highend risk takers, big swing or miss, for highend break with big unpulled prizes or complete collapse of cost basis if not so lucky. This last description happens in both physical and blockchain ecosystems. That’s why group breakers in physical are so powerful in fractionalizing the risks. On PaniniBlockchain, there are a few highend packs with unpulled rewards but with good odds. Debut packs, Kaboom green packs to name a few. There is a recently active buyer called Faenix, like Phoenix reborn from her earlier immersion in PaniniBC world (sold 1700 items and less active for a while), started to break some such highend packs. I suggest Debut Green pack, because floor/ask is relatively low and only a few big hits left, but biggest one Ant 1/2 left. She took that hint and broke one pack hitting AI 1/2, a top 3 unpulled hit. A special mailday to get LeBron debut 3/3 in 23 jersey on 23rd day of the month. I have EC now of Dream Team consisted of 8 cards out of 12. This summer Team USA is equally stacked if not better, and I tried to get their first BC packpull on chain as many as I can manage, and happened to be 8 players as well. Working on 3 more players but not going to be easy. As I described in my second pinned post, there are 4 types of PaniniBlockchain cards, BC packpull is the main category as it recreates physical hobby pack reveal on chain, THE first such card ever for each player is the Prizm Debut Red Mosaic /3, released in the summer of 2021. The debut badge is everything, and these cards are highly coveted and respected among the community. Only 3 cards and some are not pulled like LeBron and Curry, as each has one sealed. The design is 2020 prizm and has some major rookies like Ant, Haliburton and Maxey, and safe to say that all three have panned out. First two are all-NBA this season (not confirmed but should be) and selected as Team USA. I put these two in the second slide to allow a sixpack presentation in the first slide on vets. A good timing to post this. A project started since 9/23/23 and fairly recently got my 20th piece bought from a lucky guy who hit it as the main chase in a group break. Let me recap. Timing is good because: 1. LeBron just became the one person with 40k/11k/11k in P/R/A, and this card was cementing the all time scoring moment over Jabbar. 2. Tomorrow Spectra NFL BC packs will drop and it contains kabooms /25 and craft packs for Kabooms gold /10 and green /1 for guys like Stroud and Purdy. Feel free to check out my second pinned post to get a sense of #PaniniBlockchain. 3. Play-in about to start, and whether Lakers will meet Nuggets or Thunders, will root for them and Bron. Some words about this stack. /25 ones are BC packpull. All 14 cards are sequential, 23, 24, 25, 1, 2, …, 11 in serials. The remaining one is 22 which can still make serial streak going, which is lucky and unplanned (partly). To understand the last sentence, 10 of those /25 are crafted into Kaboom gold /10, meaning they ceased to exist and was exchanged into gold. So /25 becomes /15. Can be thought of as an in-print run variation, except serials for golds were randomly assigned to owners of those /25 burned. However consecutive serial makes golds fitting into 12/ to 21/ which is neat. This season is LeBron’s 21st season and he surely will play 22nd one as his son is entering NBA, and if that’s his last season, this could be contiguous to 23/ serial here. But I hope he plays as many more as he wants. Golds are placed into L and J shape to his initial and his logo. So I have 14 of 15 possible packpull and 6 of 10 possible crafted gold. It would be hard to improve this further, as it’s costly and I have many targets, but I will see over time. Having matching 1/ and 6/ special numbers. It’s first Kaboom on chain and first animated kaboom among 3 major sports. No other Kaboom BC or physical has such a meaningful moment behind action shot, which makes me feel justified to go all in, as I normally don’t stack this hard. LOL. Sometimes the PC items you are familiar with might have a pattern you don’t realize and it can click in with recent acquisition or news. Recently I obtained O and N for Lamar which prompted me an earlier sixpack post. A moment ago, DeVonta got his extension (second long multiyear contract), which prompts to look to extend the pairing (as I also have his last two letters) and come to the pairing of this post. It has the Immaculate Nameplate RPA (rookie patch auto cards) from 2016 all the way to 2021 without skipping a year, featuring the last two distinct letters shown, of guys who have a multiyear extension beyond rookie year contract. The last qualifier is a measure of recognition and success in a highly competitive, short career, potentially replaceable profession( as each year more are upcoming), such an extension means 6-10 year career is almost set and the team highly values the guy instead of drafting or trading for his replacement. DeVonta is the first of his class (among QB and WR) to get such a honor. As Dak T is 8/8, I have all the last numbered nameplate out of them. In 2015, there is only one Immaculate Nameplate RPA, which is Jameis and his letters are scrambled vs serial numbers so this makes it technically impossible. In 2022, all “top” QB are displaced, not much chance to have extension any time soon until proven, also leash of QB now is 1.5-2.5 years, and the only one that has a chance is Purdy whose first extension talk can start during next off season, but he has no Immaculate Nameplate. Again lifetime print run 7, Panini’s continuation of Exquisite and Nameplate Nobility = Noble Nameplate + Scripted Swatch. 7/7 is called perfect serial, 6/7 is can be thought as consecutive. I also have Kyler’s AY which makes sequential rookie class’s last two letters but not all /7 and not as square looking as sixpack. Every two players spell some cool stuffs, Erst (first), Ones, Tron (as in Spinotron or Torn as often the emotion in hobby in deciding what to chase/part with some confines). Crazy to see MJ first year Ultimate logo auto is up for auction in Goldin100. What a feat, @kengoldin, in securing this consignment. Hope the story will be in Goldin Netflix Season 2. Not even lot 1, but maybe lot 11 for first true 1/1 logo auto of MJ. It should shatter modern day record (post 1980). Ultimate is the best logo auto brand. @karvin15 keeps Exquisite free of solo logo auto to leave that distinction to Ultimate. It’s should be better than many other logo auto producing brands later. This will get irrefutably established after this sale. Today is 4/12. So I think it’s a good timing to do a remote pairing with my Brady @tombrady version of the above MJ. Also the first year of Ultimate logo in NFL, namely the first NFL shield auto 1/1 set. 2004 NFL instead of 2003-04 basketball (as football is a single year designation and basketball is a cross year one), and for Mr 12, fitting for date 4/12. Tatis @tatis ’ 2-run homerun gave Padres’ comeback 9-8 after down 0-8. It’s Tatis’ 4-th HR of the season and made Padres’ score into 9, fitting for date 4/9. Always want to add a nice piece within 24 hours of such memorable sports moments, logged the time onto blockchain, I managed to pry Tatis Prizm S1 Gold Vinyl 1/1, his first pack pulled (base) 1/1 on chain, from my pal @sdisomma. It pairs nicely with my existing Prizm S2 Gold Vinyl 1/1. Which is also his first animated Prizm release. The superfracting like effect is mezmorizing. That’s it. There won’t be more releases. Sean also helped me complete an in person transaction with a new seller on ebay and this card is indispensable for my Lamar Immaculate Nameplate RPA chase and I’m only one letter A away. The bottom left is me and Sean eating at Italian restaurant in NJ during my National trip. Although transaction is almost always digital, the interaction is physically in person and fun. Sean is a maximalist for Herbie Jones and is someone you want to meet. He is also famous for his bidding tactic known as Dolla Diso. The right photo is Sean’s attempt to refute a conspiracy theory that SDiso (him) is not GMoney @gmarcell79, which is an inside joke for fun as both never typed at the same time on discord and both are Italian and fiery in their responses at slight and fun provocation. Another reason both are forever linked is GMoney also has the other Tatis Prizm 1/1 of same design which is a challenge reward which is completed by only one person. They would go to length on which card is the true 1/1 and more superior. When I bought this GV 1/1, I totally forgot about this “unwanted utility”. Just landed the perfect serial 5555/5555 of @timmaelzer_official Shun Premier collection. 55 and knife reminded me about @jasonwilliams55 and how he sliced through the defense. I have a realization that has not mentioned before, which explains offensive evolution in NBA a bit. In battles, which are offensive exactly, it used to swords, then it gradually changes into guns. This is not to different to NBA pivoting from slicing through defense to basket using spacing, footwork and physicality in 90s and 2010, into gunning 3. Analytics and long range win, but slicing offense was more stylistic and fun to watch. Paired with White Chocolate’s best rookie card that can feature a true jersey number and in jersey number.
