The truffle flavour was fragrant and light, didn’t overpower the seafood at all⁣ ⁣ ☁️ 𝐔𝐧𝐢 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 - $18⁣ One of the many Otsumami bites, this had a gorgeous piece of fresh uni atop a nicely fried mini arancini and crispy gyoza skin, with a touch of freshness from the mint and cucumber ⁣ 🐟 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐝𝐨 - $24⁣ Salmon sashimi was fresh, karashi dressing was well seasoned, and the twist here came in the form of calamansi – a very southeast asian fruit ⁣ 🥩 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨 𝗪𝐚𝐠𝐲𝐮 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥 - $29⁣ This came with tender grilled wagyu beef, cream cheese, avocado and crispy shallots for added texture. I personally didn’t like this at all because I think the cream cheese should not belong in any kinda maki rolls, but my partner loved the creaminess that it added to the dish⁣ ⁣ 🥬 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬 - $16⁣ These sprouts were pretty good – they had all the right textures and flavours! [𝗡𝗘𝗪] ✨ 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝗸𝘆𝗼 𝗜𝘇𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝘆! Japanese 🍱 Really great night spent here at Tomo Tokyo 🇯🇵, with delicious new creations by Chef Luke that impressed us. The menu was really extensive and they even have yakitori (which we did not try), but they definitely have something for everyone here. Starters 🌟: - 𝗨𝗻𝗶 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 ☁️ which was an Arancini filled with crab meat, atop a crispy thin layer of gyoza skin. The addition of mint leaf on top added a nice refreshing touch to the sweet creamy Uni and crispy Arancini. - 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗱𝗼 🐟: Fresh salmon sashimi slices in a karashi dresssing, topped with refreshing calamansi slices. We love how refreshing this start was, with a nice balance between sweet, savoury and sour. Mains 🥘: - 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗲 𝗨𝗱𝗼𝗻 🦐: served chilled, these chewy udon were coated generously with truffle oil and topped with Ikura, Tobiko and ponzu jelly. Another refreshing dish worth the try! - 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝘆𝘂 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹 🥩: Maki rolle filled with Avocado, cream cheese and topped with grilled wagyu beef slices. Beef slices tasted like A5 to A4 level of fattiness and it was good. The toppings of crispy fresh shallots added another dimension to the dish and i love the shallots! However, it can be rather heavy so best to share this. - 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀 🥬: charred brussels with parmesan cheese & bacon bits which was not bad! However, it was a little oily for me and can be slightly crispier. Desserts: - 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀-𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 🍰: Filled with Hazelnut creme, Raspberry butterscotch and Caramelised almonds. The choux pastry was nicely done but I thought the creme could be smoother as it was slightly frozen in the middle. Overall, the food and ambience here was perfect for evening hangouts and you can even opt for al fresco seats by the Singapore River if you wish! 👩‍🔬Still dreaming abt these dishes cause their new menu is quite lit!! @iloafbready and i left w a happy and satisfied tummy as we were craving for good quality jap food and this place SERVED🥹😍 We had: ▪️Uni Cloud 2pcs $18 Funny story was @hourlyfoodie came to the table and talked to me and somehow one of the uni just slipped and fell off the tower then we had to piece it back tgt😂 This concept is pretty interesting as i’ve never had uni with cream cheese. In this bite-sized piece, there’s Sea Urchin Roe, Deep Fried Gyoza Skin, Cucumber Mint and Cream Cheese. The uni was creamy and there’s that slight umami taste. Not usually a fan of mint leaf but the addition of it made the taste more refreshing ▪️Salmon Crudo $24 This was my Favvv. We’re both craving for salmon and this satisfied 10/10. The thinly sliced salmon was fresh and paired with Salmon Roe, Karashi Dressing and Calamansi. Yall should rlly eat it with the calamansi!! It rlly opened my tastebuds ▪️Truffle Cold Udon $24 Upon serving this dish, i could smell the truffle. The cold udon noodles were pretty chewy and thick. You can taste the truffle from the noodles with a mild taste of ponzu jelly. Their scallop ikura very fresh and it just melts in my mouth ▪️Brussel Sprouts $16 Didnt expect them to serve this in a japanese restaurant. This was fried brussel sprouts with Bacon and Parmesan Cheese. It was a little oily for me as the oil kinda coats every layer of the brussel sprouts. The bacon was quite crispy. The parmesan cheese smell was quite strong but luckily it wasn’t super strong for the taste. ▪️Tomo Wagyu Roll $29 The wagyu beef was cooked just right. Not too chewy and it was sliced just right. It was also paired with cream cheese, avocado crispy shallot which added that nice savoury taste. ▪️Paris-BREST $16 End off your meal with this cold dessert! Their hazelnut crème was fragrant and nutty and not jelat. The shell is more on the softer side which isnt rlly my cup of tea but it was still a gd dessert nonetheless
