Finally put right the big mistake the powder coaters made with the 944's torque tube they painted the aluminium bell housing black when I asked them to leave it bare! They managed to remove most of the powder coat but didn't do a great job with bits of paint still stuck all over. I got some industrial strength paint stripper to clean it up, could have done with a couple of passes but not critical as it's under the car 😂 Some etch primer after cleaning and degreasing, followed by some Eastwood aluma blast (that stuff stinks even with a respirator on). Oh didn't have much time over the weekend but with the start of school but got a chance to clean and spray some piece for added protection and luster. Final drive and transmission (along with swing arm and paralever have) have sprayed with @eastwoodco #alumablast. Have used this product a time or two on a few other projects and have always been blown away at how durable (and heat resistant) it is. This stuff really matches with the look of freshly casted aluminum and should also make these piece easier to clean in the future. New seals in both input and output shafts of the final drive, and transmission from @maxbmwmotorcycles,with the additions of Emerald Island bushings, thank you @euromotomatt! Preheat the castings in the sun and in front of a quartz heater. Be real careful you don't pre heat the spray cans to much more than 90°. Use a spot thermometer to check temperatures. Works pretty well for basic #rattlecanpaintjobs IF weather is clear and dry.
