The perk of an Amazon cruise is that it has unique excursions that allows you to see and do more than you would when staying on land. Not only are there always morning and afternoon excursions, but there are also early-morning and late-night activities with the opportunity to see wildlife that are more often seen in the dark, like the pink dolphin! Though, the kicker is the view! I opened my curtains to a gorgeous, private view of the Amazon River. Sleeping in a top-quality room with air conditioning and no concern about the possibility of bugs in the room is a huge plus for those who may need that extra piece of mind. The Aqua Nera is carefully curated to enhance both the comfort and “wow” factor to all. The ship has incredible views from every common area and an intimate, yet casual, restaurant where the entire staff knows your name from the moment you arrive. They served me dishes with amazing tastes that felt as if my soul (and belly) was filled with a newfound joy! My expectations were exceeded, and never have I felt more cared for by a crew. The amenities onboard also warrant special recognition. There’s a billiard room where you can play pool, a private TV room where couples can have a movie night or romantic dinner, and a small exercise room for those in need of extra daily aerobic activity. My personal favorites were the small outdoor pool and incredible spa – perfect for unwinding and relaxing, no matter the time of day, to make sure your body remains rejuvenated throughout your entire adventure! Hopping off the plane, I was immediately greeted by a wave of heat and humidity – these elements of the Amazon might make some uncomfortable, but I had a sense of comfort and excitement knowing the adventure ahead. After an amazing lunch at a local restaurant, we arrived at the Aqua Nera during the prime time of sunset. When you approach the cruise vessel during golden hour, you’ll feel a sense of warmth. Had clients that recently returned from exploring the Amazon River on Aqua Nera. They loved the wildlife sightings- monkeys, sloths, iguanas and plenty of birds small and large as well as piranha fish. They thought their visits to the native villages were interesting and it felt good for them to bring school supplies for the children (they were told beforehand they could do this.)
