I wanted to end my August posts with this photo, but it was my oldest’s birthday so I gave him the spot in my feed. 😉 August was good and wild and fun and exhausting, and just what I needed in the moment. But I am so ready for September and routines and a little bit cooler weather (even though it is summer for a few more weeks!) September is the first month I should be home every night. Day 30: Everyday Eyecandy I carry this pouch with me almost everywhere. It's in my work bag, and I pack it or parts of it when I travel. The contents change occasionally, but there's pens, markers, washi tape, a small ruler, a smaller gridded notebook, a nail file, and probably a random assortment of ponytail holders buried at the bottom. Newly added this summer was a hole punch that I didn't realize I needed until it was .50 at an estate sale; it has good action and a little metal trap for the punchings. I hate to be caught without multiple colors of pens or markers, the chance to make something more colorful. For me it's a little bit of eyecandy, everyday. #augusteyecandy

#augusteyecandy day 28: I made this Even though we’re weird, quirky, rough around the edges and imperfect in many ways…I’m so proud of my relationship with my children. I’ve had to fight through so much terrible programming and trauma and resulting mental health struggles just to be present and kind for them. Each positive interaction still feels miraculous, especially considering we are entering our 8th year of homeschooling and spend so many of our waking moments together... and one of us is a tween.😅 They’re growing smart and aware and hilarious and have so much growing to do but I’m thrilled by the prospect that I get to be the one to grow along with them. I always wanted sons so in so many ways they’re my dream come true. 💝 Thanks be to God!
