die Reiherente auch Aythya fuligula Die bis zu 50cm grosse, zu den Tauchenten gehörenden Reiherenten. Die Adulten Vögel können gut voneinander unterschieden werden, Des Männchen, mit seinem langem Federschopf, sieht aus als ob er einen Mantel tragen würde und ein weisses Hemd darunter, das Weibchen hingegen ist in schlichten Brauntönen gefärbt. Auffallend sind zudem der beinahe blaue Schnabel mit der schwarzen spitze und die gelben Augen. Man sieht sie auf Seen und fliesenden Gewässern, dort tauchen sie nach Muscheln und Schnecken (ca.60%) Insekten und andere Kleintiere (30%) und von Pflanzen (10%). Besonders bevorzugen sie zu Winterzeiten Seen die von der Dreikantenmuscheln. Selbst in der Nacht können sie Nahrung fingen, dabei durchwühlen sie mit ihrem Schnäbel den Schlamm von Gewässern und suchen so nach Gürtelwürmer und anderen Insektenlarven. Reiherenten wurden und werden, dank ihren äusseren, ihrer Agilität und ihrer einfachen Haltung, als Ziergeflügel gehalten. Гнездится в дуплах деревьев по берегам лесных водоёмов, в сезон размножения держится в тенистых бухтах, в кладке 5—13 яиц с зеленоватым оттенком. В отличие от многих других уток в гнездовой период крупные стаи образует очень редко (исключение — скопления на период линьки), однако иногда встречается небольшими разрозненными группами. Зимует на морских побережьях и крупных пресноводных водоёмах. Питается преимущественно водными беспозвоночными. 3 и 4 #Морянка, или саук, или #аллейка (лат. #Clangula эhyemalis) — небольшая, но очень распространённая полярная нырковая утка. Легче всего определяется по очень длинному и тонкому хвосту самцов, который постоянно держится приподнятым над поверхностью воды.
