• Mein Fashion Lookbook • If there was anything noteworthy about Mein it was the sense of style shown by Mubashira Jafar and Asif Khan. So much so, that their looks were worthy of being compiled into a lookbook! They truly excelled in every domain. From western and eastern wear to casual and formal looks, they all were great! • Mein: Last Epiosde • Mein hoon aur mere saath bhi mein hoon! At the end, it’s everyone for themselves and to be honest that’s what I had expected and had hoped for after such a rollercoaster ride… Mein started off with so much potential and interest primarily because of the excitement to see Wahaj and Ayeza paired together for the first time. But that was it. They used their clout to hook the audience and drove the drama initially on their shoulders as the audience waited for them to unite on screen. However, as the story progressed, the plot shifted from MJ and Zaid to then about Ayra and then to Asif Uncle. But what was the end? Rayyan went to jail, Kashmala went off who knows where (and why?), Ayra and MJ leave Zaid, and Asif Uncle is left having breakfast with Ajaz. 🤪 Did anyone check on Jaffar Uncle to make sure he’s okay? It couldn’t be more obvious that this drama was written for the sole purpose of TRPs and not for the art of storytelling and drama. At the end, no character made sense and that’s because it was not the writer/director/producers’ priority. It was just about including the stereotypical ingredients to make a “hit” drama. I’m honestly so surprised that Wahaj and Ayeza took on this project. While taking on the role of MJ still makes some sense since there was a margin to perform, Zaid had absolutely no role in this entire serial, even down to the last episode. I kept waiting for him to rise and speak out, but in the end he’s left speechless in front of Ayra and MJ…he had 0 lines with them! Wahaj is an extremely talented actor who deserves better roles to showcase his acting abilities in. I really hope that he selects his projects more carefully now. While Mein certainly had its flaws, there were two things that were outstanding: MJ and Asif Uncle’s styling and the OST! I hope our writers, directors, and producers get out of this race for TRPs and move towards effective and meaningful storytelling that showcases the true talent and potential of our industry and respects the audience’s time invested in watching it. • Mein: Episode 30 & 31 • The games being played are all over and now it’s time to come to a conclusion. Zaid has discovered the truth for what happened with Ayra while he was away, and the guilt of leaving her behind is eating him alive. On the other hand, Zaid’s delay in trusting her and defending her sooner has made Ayra realize how important her self respect is compared to love. MJ knows the truth about what happened, but doesn’t have it in her to come out with the truth because of the fear that remains for potentially getting divorced again. All three of our leads are facing an internal conflict that we’ll hopefully see resolved in the end. MJ may finally overcome this fear and recognize the wrong she’s done by removing herself from Zaid’s life. Zaid will hopefully defend Ayra and put those who hurt her in their rightful place, but will those actions be enough for Ayra to want to stay with him? She seems pretty checked out as well (and that’s valid too). The man behind this entire mess also must be punished. What will be Asif’s punishment for all he’s done. We already know his daughter is getting a divorce, but surely there has to be more to account for all he’s done! Is Kashmala leaving Rayyan a good enough punishment for him? He wasn’t that interested in her to begin with…I hope we see a better punishment for Rayyan too. Mein started off with a lot of potential, but somehow at some point derailed and left us completely lost as to where the story was going. Even now, there are so many questions that have gone unanswered. Why did no one bring up or confront the fake wife stunt Ayra pulled? What was the purpose for it if Zaid was never gonna know about it? Bhabi has somehow managed to stay relevant till the end and continues to be the only sane voice. It seems like the one, quiet character we were waiting to step it up, will only awaken in the last episode... At this point, I want the ending to be for them to all end up alone. No one is completely innocent and their ‘mein’ got the best of them. What do you think should be the ending? #mein

• Mein: Episode 28 & 29 • It only took us 28 episodes to get the scenes we originally signed up for when we saw the teasers for Mein! Zaid and MJ finally get some time together and the chemistry is definitely there 😍🔥. MJ caring for sick Zaid makes it seem like her demeanor is no longer just a facade to win him back…she really does like him and want to be with him (so it seems 👀)! I hope MJ has actually changed for good, unlike her brother 🙄 Why oh why did good Rayyan have to turn bad again. 🤦🏽♀️ He has officially screwed up the game being played by Asif Uncle and MJ, and they know it. Asif Uncle strictly said not to speak of this incident ever again and what does Rayyan do…the exact opposite. His fake crying to Kashmala was too funny. Will Kashmala be his ally? I would think and hope she could pick up on the lies vs. the truth based on his past and current behaviors, but let’s see. Even Asif Uncle can see through him, but his ‘mein’ won’t let him side with Ayra. Now it’s a matter of seeing how Zaid will respond. Will he believe Ayra or stand by his father and sister? A lot has gone down with Ayra and my sympathies are with her in that regard. However, couldn’t this all have been avoided if she had taken Zaid’s proposal when he left his family and secured a job. They could’ve happily lived their separate lives and what better revenge than to take away Asif Uncle’s one son and heir to the corporate title. But I guess then where would the drama be 🤭. • Mein: Episode 26 & 27 • We thought this drama was about Zaid and MJ, but they have taken the side roles and the real leads are Asif Uncle and Ayra! With Zaid away, they both are taking advantage of showing their true colors. Ayra is fully invested in taking her revenge even if it means stooping down to the level of her enemies. Does that make her any different than the others? If only she would listen to her bhabi and Fakhar Uncle, but clearly being with Zaid isn’t a priority for her even though that’s what has given her the status to come thus far. The thing that makes it hard to sympathize with Ayra is her lack of strategy and logic. Is ignoring Zaid’s calls helping her in any way? She also practically gave herself away for being behind the entry of Mrs. Asif… so then how does she expect to win? I was really hoping that when Asif Uncle called in the police to take away Ms. Zareen, Zaid and MJ would also walk in and be exposed to Ayra’s doings. However, it seems like Mr. Asif has other plans... Zaid and MJ are enjoying their time away in La La Turkey Land! While spending quality time together, it seems like Zaid may have hinted about liking MJ in the past. Will MJ be able to rekindle those feelings while on this trip? He still cares for Ayra too (for now)! Rayyan’s feelings finally come to the surface when he confronts his father for always being ignored and given given less of a priority all his life. While his feelings are valid, poor Kashmala doesn’t deserve to be treated this way. She’s always given Rayyan the love and attention he’s wanted from others. Overall, an interesting turn of events this week, adding to the curiosity of what’s to come next! @shahzadnawaz as Asif Khan was truly the star this week. His performance was outclass. I have waited for Zaid’s power and voice to come through for 20 episodes now, and a part of me wants to give up waiting for that moment, but then a part of me still has hope that we are going to see a strong-headed Zaid who takes actions with his own mind and can recognize right from wrong, but let’s see. While his leniency towards Ayra and accepting every wish of hers is understandable to an extent, his complete disregard towards Mubashira and her feelings is disappointing. His coldness was at least justifiable when he found her to be collateral damage to his lost mohabbat and her public divorce, but what’s the justification now? She’s the one that reunited him with Ayra, the least he could do is consider her feelings! Writing the valima invitation from her or going to visit her father to deliver the first invitation was a bit much. C’mon Zaid we expected better from you! We know Mubashira is bowing down in order to win Zaid over, but could she not have expressed her feelings to Zaid privately. Sharing those sentiments I feel like would’ve brought them closer and maybe even made Zaid realize what he’s doing to her is unfair. This guilt will only grow as Ayra’s true intentions come forward. Just as the marriage is secured, Ayra’s list of demands come forth front and center. She’s not here to play games. She’s going to cash out all the repercussions as well as make the lives of those that ruined her family just as miserable as they made hers. However, her power is only through having Zaid on her side as her husband, but how much of this will Zaid bear? Her plans don’t seem to hold much long-term sustainability at the rate she’s going. While Zaid’s intentions towards marrying Ayra were true and genuine, Ayra no longer seemed to have married out of love, it was simply out of revenge. Also, why did Zaid’s boss come to Ayra’s house? That seemed a bit odd. Was it to create the dramatic face off between the two rivals at the doorstep or is there some later significance? It will be interesting to see the tables turn. Ayra’s behavior will potentially push Zaid further away from her and Mubashira’s kindness and calculated steps might just make a place in Zaid’s heart after all. • Mein: Episode 17 • A game of selfish egos, where everyone has their own agenda. It’s no longer just about love, respect, kindness, money, status, or relationships. It’s just a matter of getting what you want and going to any lengths to get it. Each character has their demands and their ego is holding them to it. Someone’s going to have to break their ego for a bit in order to get what they want and I think it will be Mubashira. Mubashira may join Zaid in facilitating his marriage with Ayra in order to secure her own marriage and avoid another divorce. But does Zaid know what he’s getting into? Ayra isn’t the bichari, helpless girl he thinks she is. While Ayra has suffered great losses due to Zaid’s father, she’s still able to secure a job elsewhere and has the level-headedness to fend for herself. Therefore, if she’s accepting to marry Zaid with some conditions it only seems like it’s because she has some other motives. I don’t think Ayra will be able to separate Zaid from his father’s actions. Zaid will be the means to her revenge against Asif Khan. The love between Ayra and Zaid is over. It’s all about managing the collateral damage for falling in love. On the other hand, glad to see Rayyan and Kashmala finding love and happiness in their marriage. Much to our surprise, Rayyan has turned out to be a good husband, hope it stays that way! After this week’s episode, Mein has picked back up my interest as it heads towards the climax! I think Ayra’s true colors coming forward post-marriage may be the uniting factor to bring Zaid and Mubashira closer.
