For our college guys we’re taking an approach for more function, core stability, and movement. Functional training is some of the best training not just for athletes but everyone in my opinion. Movement matters, function matters, health matters. Working on keeping the hips and lower extremities loose and mobile. The other exercises are great core stability, unilateral, and functional movements that benefit the body as a whole. The core is engaged within every movement and focusing on stabilizing/strengthening single leg movement. Keeping these boys loose, mobile, and ready for season!

Half Turkish Get Up is a great exercise for shoulder stability and control. The core is activated maintaining strength and stability as the athlete drives the weight upward and controls it coming down. Once comfortable we will progress the athletes into Full Turkish Getups! Something simple yet effective.

As fall comes near it’s important to understand goals and priorities. A lot of guys playing summer ball constantly may not have had the time to hit the weight room as often as before. With weight training it’s important to have a goal. Our goal and focus today was form and technique. Corner Squats are a great exercise to help understand hip hinge, neutral alignment, and FRM. Understanding that once we learn to move well, correctly, and efficiently, then everything else becomes easier. Form=Function. Going to be a great week!

Our Pitchers/Catchers group working on some explosive functional training. Times like these where the season is coming to an end it’s important to look after your athletes and their bodies. With athletes CNS being used at a high demand twice a week for games, putting a bar on their shoulders isn’t always the go to option for training. In my opinion I think there’s much more benefit in finding the specifics of what the athletes need for the day/week and focus on execution. Lightening the volume and extent of the training sometimes is more beneficial for the individuals, less is more. Boys finishing up their regular season within these next couple weeks!

Breathe Baseball's 3X and 2X Membership Training provides the best skill, performance and movement training for all ages. We believe that due to innovations over the past decade there are better ways to approach player development with the goal of creating efficient, explosive and injury free baseball players. Players will focus on the (3) areas most important to their success on the diamond. The Skill portion of our triangle will teach and train the Pitcher or Positional Player about the Bio-Mechanics and Kinematic Sequence of their pitching delivery, swinging motion, running motion, throwing motion and/or fielding mechanics. The Performance portion of our pyramid will dive into the strength, power, speed, agility and conditioning areas of the baseball athlete. The Movement portion of our pyramid is the most important part and most often forgotten area of the baseball athlete and any athlete, for that matter. This area of Sport Medicine will touch on mobility, flexibility, stability, physical therapy and maintenance of the physical body. The reason this area is most important and most forgotten is the other 2 areas of skill training and performance training are accelerated before the athlete is ready to ramp up either skill or performance training. Our team has backgrounds in Sports Science, Biomechanics, Player Development, Video Analysis and of course the game of baseball. We consult with Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists, Strength & Conditioning and Biomechanical Specialists.
