Thank you Flappers for a fun, intimate time in the Main Room last night! I felt really warm and cozy as the room was decorated for Christmas! It was my first time in the Main Room since February, and my first time not bombing in the room as well. Going into a show, I’d never felt more prepared, and it felt great going second! It was the first time I actually felt like I belonged in the green room, and I wasn’t scared shitless deep down (as I was last time). The host was wonderful, and the comics crushed! It was awesome to share the stage with top notch pros (Don Rickle’s daughter). I had to recreate the post from Feb, and touch up my name on the wall (with a few additions). I’ve graduated from flannel to blazer! In February my life was a shit show, and stand up was the only positive thing in my life. It was so cool being able to turn that shit show into a tight five. I’m excited to see where I’ll be in the next seven months! I also had to take an obligatory “pretty good” De Niro selfie after a fun show! I’m still not over how good the Irishman was! The road to this show was excellent! Shout out to BertsBackroom, and Fourth Wall for the great mics leading up to this! The video should be up next week! 2009 (left) Me and my mullet going to my first stand up show in one of the only comedy clubs in Nashville to see Mad TV’s Michael McDonald on my 18th birthday. I’ve wanted to do stand up since I was 12, but there were hardly any opportunities to do stand up in Clarksville, because open mics were mostly for music only. A lot of old rednecks would give me weird looks asking me where my “gee-tar” was? I couldn’t afford to drive forty miles to Nashville to do open mics, so those trips were special occasions. I did occasionally perform at my undergrad’s Einstein’s Bagels at APSU, and Boy Scout campfires, which were some of the best times of my life. 2019 (Right: Last night at BertsBackRoom) Now I’m going on my third year as an LA comic.
