National Domestic Violence Remembrance Day 💜 Today we remember & honor those affected by domestic violence. Reflecting on and speaking up on behalf of those who have lost their life, current victims, victim survivors and family and friends impacted. This day serves as a reminder of the severe ongoing work required to prevent domestic and family violence and the services required to support victims. We rarely hear of domestic violence until it becomes a fatality. And then it is too late. We need louder voices and more education on what is leading to and the main cause of domestic violence. We need further education and support services so that victims have more understanding on what they are experiencing and have a gateway for victims to escape, to feel safe and secure. To be heard and to be supported. To be a true version of themselves without the fear of control, abuse and violence. We cannot stand alone. Don’t stay quiet. Don’t let fear control you. By using my own voice over the last few months my heart shatters to hear and now know of women in my workplace and my community suffering domestic violence. Women who are too afraid to have a voice. Women who suffer quietly to keep the peace and to remain safe. Stand tall, be loud and help build an army of support for victims. Running on sheer #GIRLPOWER 8 vials of blood taken in the morning then zooming back for pitch meetings where I had to REALLY stand my ground 💪🏽😅😤! Then I even got to recite some of my poetry at night and share deep thoughts with other poets on being grateful for this time in history to really take a step back and listen to our common struggles, fears, and lean into deeper empathy for each other! ✨ Instead of being so quick to judge, really taking in and celebrating everyone's unique and fascinating journey and looking beyond pretty pictures and understanding the deeper pains people feel whether they are 24 or 64. If you know me you know this is the not girl I used to be. If you don’t let me introduce you to the anxiety ridden and always worried about what other people thought person I was. May of 2018 life fell apart I didn’t know what was going to come of me at that point I was given the choice of being admitted into the hospital or to go home under strict conditions. This begin the anxiety medication journey. The worrying what everyone was thinking or better yet saying about me. The feeling like a zombie on the medication my workplace was taking the brunt of the hit because I was either not there or there but not really there. I also had someone very close to me going through her own worries of not being enough. Thankfully she is here today and a huge supporter. A few years passed my family and I had some major highs and major lows. A major low in August 2021 our lives came crashing down after a 19 week miscarriage. And then started the worrying and the anxiety again. The wondering what I did to make this happen. I knew I wanted to be happy physically and mentally. And welcoming two Fast forward to February of last year being introduced to the Arbonne business. I was skeptical as I was home on maternity leave knowing things would be best if I stayed home with the kids. This brought out ALOT of self doubt that I wasn’t good enough my life wasn’t perfect enough. But guess what I’ve learned these other people with opinions aren’t paying your bills, they are running your household. They aren’t doing any of the things is our lives that we let ourselves believe they can make feel not good enough about. As a vocal coach and business owner for over a decade, I’ve seen it firsthand. The time will never be just right – you just have to dive in!
