Mississippi's Jim Crow Laws, rooted in white supremacy, continue to haunt Black voters today. Post-Civil War, the state's White ruling class enforced felony disenfranchisement to silence Black voices. Charles Caldwell, representing the silenced majority, symbolizes this injustice. Presently, over 55,000 Mississippians, mostly Black, have lost voting rights due to this law. Despite efforts to overturn it, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the case twice. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson denounced the law's racist intent in her 2023 dissent, emphasizing the urgent need to eradicate its toxic legacy. . . . #blackpolitics #Voter #CivilRights #RacismInAmerica #BlackVoiceMatters #JusticeDenied #NBCNews #PBSNewsHour #CNBC #NPR #Reuters #APNews #BBCNews #NYT #WashingtonPost #EndSystemicRacism #humanrights #blackvotersmatter✊🏾 #blackpoliticsnow #Newsupdate #cnn #abcnews
