It’s been a stressful couple of weeks. I’ve been sick and now have a cough I just can’t shake, and it’s wearing me out. More stressful was Logan slipping on the ice and hurting one of his back legs. A trip to the vet left us with the thought that maybe he undid the surgery he had a year and half ago. The vet also found a lump I had missed, bringing his total lumpiness to six. Schedule a visit with an orthopaedic specialist, with the plan to biopsy all the lumps at the same time, and we have a good news/bad news situation. Good news: the lumps are all benign, and his knee is still intact. Bad news, he has definitely developed arthritis in both knees, and his lower back. No more long walks or romps until we find a pain solution. Took Rogue along for the ride because she has been scratching so much since we moved back that we started food trials again. She seems to have developed an allergy to her beloved fish. The vet thinks it might be a reaction to a very stressed immune system, so no more fish for a while. Rogue got her first allergy shot and now we wait to see if it works for her. Well, there was nothing innersting yesterday cuz the pawrents went shoppin and runned errands, and have no clue what me and my brother did 🤣🤣🤣. XPuppy unpack log, Day 4 (XPuppyMommy’s dialogue). Today we, the pawrents, played unpack hooky and made like bandits for Grand Beach. We chose not to take the Xpuppies, as we were traveling with my sister and brother-in-law, and we wanted to check the dog friendly areas. We started by tooling around Grand Marais and checking out everything new (and old!!), and visited my friend’s grave. I talked to her for a few minutes, weeded her flower patch, and cleaned the grass cuttings away. Then we all went to the East Beach, where we had a stellar picnic lunch, waded in the waves, and did some silly touristy things. Next was a trip to the boardwalk on the West Beach. Everything there was new to us, since the last time any of us had been was 30+ years ago. Driving back to the city it was decided we were going to visit a microbrewery in Saint Boniface. Everyone enjoyed their assortment of bevies and wobbly pops. Poor Daddy Guy doesn’t do a lot of wobblies anymore, so his couple drinks hit him pretty hard. He’s clearly out of practice. But since I only had flavoured water I drove home after we left my sister and brother-in-law at there Air BnB. We got home to two extremely excited Xpuppies, and no accidents!!! So proud of them … they were left alone in a still strange home for a very long time today. XPuppy moving log, Day 7 (Logan’s dialogue). Today. Was. So. Much. Fun!!! Me and Rogue switched beds on the drive. Mommy thought we were pretty silly. It was a short day today so when we got to the hotel we were too early. Daddy stopped in Dryden for stuff, so it was just us and Mommy. So we walked around the hotel yard. We found flowers and blueberries and tree stumps. Rogue ate blueberries 🤢 and chased grasshoppers. She’s so weird. Then Daddy got here and it rained a little bit. After the rain we all went for a long walk to the lake. We splored a dock (Rogue tried to jump off into the water!), and then a beach. We gots to splash but Mommy said no swimming without our vests. They were going to find us a dog park but when we got to our hotel there was guys using scary machines and poor Logan was really scared of them. So we decided to stay in. XPuppy moving log, Day 5 (Logan’s dialogue). Today we started by sniffing the flowers … and the trees, and the reeds, and the weeds … you get it, right? Then we loaded up in the pooper mobile and went to see a big money! Mommy told us stories about her last visit here, and that was right about the time the dinosaurs died I think. After Rogue and I peed on a kazillion rocks, we went for another car ride. We stopped at a place called Chippewa Falls (we’ve been here before) for a pink-nink, then drove some more to Winnie the Pooh! The hotel lady gave us a room at the back so I don’t think I’ll be scared of big noises tonight. Mommy says me and Rogue have been really good, so tomorrow we are going to find a park in Scary-Boom Bay where we can run amok and get out the zoomies!! I take my job as navigator very serious like, even if I do sleep most of the time. We got to meet Mommy’s cousin David, and me and Logan eventually decided he was okay. Logan even gave kisses out! XPuppy moving log, Day 3 (Logan’s dialogue). We went back to our house today and the truck with the boxing upper guys came back … Again!!! They took the rest of our stuff and put it in the even bigger more scarier truck! When our house was totally empty they drove away. Mommy said it’s going to our house … But isn’t this our house? Me and Rogue were very upset so we dig a nest in the backyard and parked our butts. When Mommy was done vacuuming (she used the little not as scary vacuum), Daddy runner thé errands and then put pink stuff on all the walls where pictures used to be. Then we went to the hotel and took a nap, but Mommy and Daddy’s phones started making loud scary noises!! Apparently it was a message to give me my scaredy-cat pills. We went to visit Otis again and Mommy and Daddy visited with his Mommy and Daddy. But it was scary because the sky was yelling! Finally we came back to our hotel room. XPuppy moving log, Day 2 (Rogue’s dialogue) - Mommy and Daddy dumped us at our neighbours’ house this morning … completely abandoned us and made us have play time with Otis! Sometimes strange people would come out of our house and I would yell at them to get out, but they wouldn’t leave! All day I was ignored!! Finally Mommy came and got us and took us home. But all our stuff got stolen!! Our house is almost empty!! Then Daddy said it was time to go and we went back to the hotel. I tried to snuggle with Mommy but she was kinda sweaty and a little stinky.
